Am i missing something? When an enemy shields up it seems it gets insanely resilient, it takes at least 5x the time to tear down shield than hp.
I noticed this too. A shielded enemy dies faster without the shield. It feels as if the shield has damage reduction built in (maybe there is)
Because their barrier is probably broken like SB barrier, scaling well over 100% max life, unless i missed something barrier can only be 100% of your total hp at max or at least that’s how it works on nec. Anyway i noticed it too, depleting monster’s barrier takes WAY more time than 100-0 their hp after barrier is gone and that should not be the case as far as i know
Yea when I come across them in the pit I just move on. Just kills too much time taking them down. What’s annoying is when the mobs that give all the other mobs resilience has a shield.
Funny ones are those with barrier + increased hp or barrier + damage reduction
the entire barrier system is crappy tbh. Even on your character it’s often the difference between feeling very tanky or being one-shot…
I heard someone say that Barrier Monsters have like 90% damage reduction built into the barrier. And that this is a bug that used to be there and recently it came back. Basically they are not supposed to have that damage reduction.
You cannot crit shields.
Edit: Hey guys, edit on this. You absolutely can crit shields; i had tested this like in season 2 against the butcher, and i would never crit until i broke his shield (had 60% crit so it wasnt just rotten rng). Im not sure when this was changed, but yeah shields are totally critable; apologies on misinformation.
