Endgame Strongholds and Tempering Solutions

Here’s hoping.

  1. Make strongholds relevant in the end game by creating a random event unique to the player after they reach character level 100, similar to a side quest, where a random, non-way-point, strong hold has been retaken by advanced versions of the enemies there prior. [ Suggesting Level 150+ so that this is strictly a late/end game activity ]

  2. If the player is successful in clearing the strong hold within a set amount of time they can earn a worldstone dust. [ 6 of which are needed to remove all tempers and masterworks from a weapon].

To keep player retention high, make the event a daily or on a 6 hour cooldown.

This makes it to where you can reforge an item but it will be a long drawn out process to do so. So in most cases you will still “brick” the item but if you find that perfect one… with time and effort you can try again.

Also by putting a daily/hourly cooldown on being able to obtain the Worldstone dust, you wouldn’t be redirecting all players to a NEW, BETTER,FASTER exp/loot zone but instead it would be a short detour that would only appeal to players both capable and actively seeking the worldstone dust or a challenging experience that is separate from the pit, nightmare dungeons, and end game bosses.

At the very least this feature could appeal to players just seeking more endgame activities and crafting opportunities.

{TLDR}

After you’re level 100, random strongholds can appear that will have lvl 150+ enemies for a set period of time.

If completed fast enough, you will get 1 Worldstone dust.

6 world stone dust = removing all tempers/masterworks from an item.

Event should have either a daily or 6 hour cooldown to help player retention
and make the worldstone dust feel far more valuable than other materials.

I just wish you could complete a Stronghold in a HellTide and have it still act like HellTide. I would complete way more in season.

Yeah that’d be a nice QoL change.

They would likely want to cap the world dust you can hold at 6 also, so people couldn’t just stock up on hundreds of them and reset tempering whenever they want.

Yeah, otherwise it would trivialize tempering. The idea is to only keep 1 maybe 2 items you just cannot part with, the perfect roles, so it makes the whole process and grind worth it.

Make reward, not event on CD. You can only claim the reward once every xxx is better than gating event behind time where not everyone can make it when it happens.

WB should spawn hourly like helltide, but you can claim it’s reward x times per day only.
