Endgame is boring af, I'm gonna need Starfield early access

I tried to like the game. I really did. At 300+ hours I just can not convince myself any longer. Theres just too many problems.

Density: The game is literally empty. On average I spend more time looking for mobs than fighting them.

Dungeon objectives: They’re tedious and annoying. If I had gotten a penny for every time I had to backtrack through the entire dungeon to kill the last remaining enemy, I’d have a lot of pennies.

Gold as currency: I have to pick up every single item and check each one individually in order to max my currency and gear comparsion. 98% of items are garbage and I’ve considered to vendor everything right away after checking weapon ilvl. Why the hell are ilvl 800+ items so uncommon in T70+ Dungeons? Playing normal dungeons is better for gear and it is better for gold. In my certainly over 20 thousand hours of gaming in total I do not recall a single game in which easier content was more rewarding than harder content.

No auction house or functional trade site with listing filters - enjoy searching through discord servers with atrocious layouts for hours if you need a specific item that does not have the stats of an item listed in a maxroll build. Amount of different necklace rolls make it absurdly hard to create something on your own.

Balancing: If you can not apply vulnerable, your build is effectively horrid because you’re missing out on triple damage, in many cases even more than triple damage. Certain skills can not activate or simply do not benefit from certain passive conditions due to their spell nature tags. Some of these passives are so strong that you would genuinely just be gimping yourself by not picking them, i.e. immobilize / devouring blaze. Automatically renders all of these skills swamp tier.

That said, there’s many other problems like some classes having 5 times more EHP than other classes due to fortify. Or resistances being next to worthless. Or cooldown / cost reduction and crit chance / damage + vuln damage being mandatory stats on every piece of gear that can have them in almost every build. The list goes on. Anyway, I’m quitting for now and I’m looking forward to reading the patch notes for S1. If theres no significant updates to the above mentioned problems, I will likely just uninstall and never return. Cheers gamers.

It seems like this is a standard for the gaming industry now though. Starfield will probably be the same unfinished state.

300 hours in 5 weeks is 8.5 hours per day. Maybe go outside and get some fresh air. Take a pet for a walk.

I probably played more than 8 hours per day on average. I spent the day outside having a bbq with my fam and my urge to play the game does not exist anymore.

That’s healthy.

I swear the material writes itself in these forums.

Played a game for over 300 hours - but didn’t enjoy it. :joy:

Took you long enough, enjoy well deserved rest from this terrible game.

Well theres nothing else I would want to play. So I tried to convince myself that I like this game, because if I don’t, I’ll have to look for a new hobby. Until starfield releases at least.

You clowns bring up the newest AAA game as if it’s going to be dramatically different. The story is about 25-30 hours, then you imagine that an RPG with “romances” will give you an amazing endgame. Enjoy your 1000 planets.

I had fun in skyrim for well above a thousand hours. I’m gonna enjoy my thousand planets, thanks.

Another thread where someone has already effectively tested the failed longevity of this game, another thread where shills exit the hive to claim that a person with far more experience than them with the game can’t deduce that the game is in fact bad LOL. Shill logic is funny

I know many people have low standards. It’s how the gaming industry gets stuck. Personally I found Skyrim to be asinine.

Sunk-cost fallacy.

“Surely the game will get better at level 50, right?! no…dang”
“Surely the game will get better once I have full sacred gear, right?! no…dang”
“Surely the game will get better once I get to 60+, right?! no…dang”
“I’ve already spent sooo much time on this game, surely the game will get better once I get ancestral gear, right?! no…dang”
“Surely the game will get better if I get more paragon points, right?! no…dang”

Not a good thing for a game to be built on, but you keep laughing.

Skyrim was the beginning of the degradation of the RPG genre through strict casualization, but D4 is essentially a game designed for a juvenile cell phone player from the writing to the mechanics. They’re not even in the same universe of quality and that’s saying something.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Diablo 4 has 1% of the complexity of Starfield. You can literally build your spaceship however you want using lego-like blocks, among many other things. Meanwhile diablo 4 doesn’t even have search function in inventory.

There’s plenty to fix and add to this game, but hoss, 300+ hours on a game you don’t like, in 39 days, is honestly unhealthy obsession. I’ve been playing Diablo games since 1997, and I love these games, but that 8 hour workday worth of time you’re putting in every day of the week is just excess. A man should have more than a single hobby. I’ve played probably 2 hours a day or so on average, which is already too much for anybody with a job and a family, and despite actually enjoying myself I still get tired of it after spending too much time in game. I think your play pattern might have about as much to do with why you’re burnt out as anything else. Plus, if you don’t play the game like that, you’ll inherently be giving the game more time to mature before you hit the lvl100, nmd100 wall that tends to burn people out so rapidly due to the game still being in a launch state, which as most ARPG players know, is never super pretty. Take a break, play some other games if that’s all you’re interested in, do another hobby altogether or spend more time with loved ones if you can, get out in nature what with it being Summer and all, something. Just do something, anything else, and come back later. You’ll be far happier for it, brother! :v:

I swear it’s a meme at this point. That or they either have zero awareness of how bizarre it looks to other people.

Especially the people that made the “I played 300-400 hours in the first 3 weeks and D4 is the worst thing ever!” posts. 300 hours in 2-3 weeks

All valid points op, and I’m guessing quite some work to get them right.

Still pvp exists, trade exists. The two things to really do once you have a max lvl gg char and want something to do with it.

Pvp especially could use an arena or two but oh well.
