Echo of Varshan is such an annoying boss

How can you beat that?
I dont get his shield.
He is constnatly shielded at T3.
As an barb I have to get close to hit him but then I get this cloud where I dont see anything and I can not use my skills. So I have to walk away from him.
I barely can hit him and do damage.
Its constantly running around and doing nothing.
Whenever I have time to go close and hit him he has his mega shield up or casts that cloud on me where I can not do anything.
At level 60 right now and this boss is annoying as hell for me.
Any tips how to beat him? Any known tricks other than level up more?

Attack the mobs that are giving him the shield

Is he level 95? 20 carcs

What level is the boss?

Some one said T3 is a foul invoker or something version like level 70 maybe

if so there is your answer.

As a tb rogue, he didn’t last 10 seconds for me in T3.

Playing a Melee Druid, I just took him out at level 62. I just ran around the edge when he had that purple damage shield up. It seemed like reflect damage, I could not touch him while that was up. I mainly attacked while the minions were up and for the few seconds in between where the shield was down.

Annoying for sure. He should have more shieldless time.

1 hour ago i was listening to datmodz telling how undertuned that boss was as he was suprised by the stats shown.

meanwhile this post was created.

who should i trust lol

The t4 version is lvl 80 and dies in 15 seconds to my mediocre geared 75 blood lance necro. He’s a pushover.

This season I wanted to step a bit out of the meta so, I’m doing Flurry instead of Twisting Blades. I do a massive amount of damage to Varshan in any case.
I fought him the first time in WT2, and I was equal to his level. I thought in that encounter he was a pushover.
I fought him again in WT3, and 1 level under Varshan so I figured this would be a good match. The battle was enjoyable, not too hard, but not the pushover he was back in WT2. So naturally I fought him again because he dropped me some decent loot, and I figured why not, I got the mats.

Something changed in that second battle…

Everything was going just fine until he got to just past his last potion drop marker… Then I think his shield bugged out.
See all his minions were dead, and I got his shield down but then, he began to almost immediately summon his minions again, and before the minions were even out of the ground, his shield went back up (without Varshan actually charging his shield from the minions.)
I suddenly out of no where, only had about a 2 second window to do damage when the rest of the fight had gone as smooth as the last time.

I got him down eventually, but it’s funny that this is the first I’m reading about this. When it happened to me I thought it was a fluke, or bad connection (internet was acting up all day.)
Maybe there is a bug, because my 2 WT3 kills were back to back, but the second one got a little broken.

Somethig is off.
When I attack the mobs its a 33% chance those mobs inherit his shield or I am in that smoke area where I can not fight or use skills. Usually I can kill 2/3 if I am lucky but 1/3 always gets an instant shield from the boss.
I feel like mine is bugged or insanely overtuned.
Normal bosses in Nightmare Dungeon that are 8 levels above me die pretty fast and easy.
He, that … Varshan, is the same level as me and he is unkillable.

On T2 level 50, T3 level 60 and T4 level 80. ezpz

Is this with foul and torment invokers?

Cause if they are 60 and t3 is 60 , i would say they should be killing it easy.

But if they use a foul or torment crafted invoker i think the 60 one becomes 70.

Or so i heard. Have not tried yet

Got D/C on last capstone boss, and have not tried again yet, i am still pissed .lol

you gotta nuke the adds. if you need help, you can hit me up.

I think you can only activate especifically each invoker on one difficulty.

So the “normal one” invoker of Vashan on T2 is level 50. The “medium” foul invoker on T3 that is level 60. And the last one the “hard” tormented invoker on T4 with level 80.

Yea its probably a just a gearing issue and I think a lot of people forgot they nerfed the crap out of damage reduction.

Yeah I was expecting some uber boss like Lilith lmao

Yeah feels bad tbh,

Game was better balanced before they did all this, maybe not on super high end but for me i take some bullet sponge over getting one shot.

T2 this one tough wizard elite named monster,in the fractured peaks , one shot me on T2.

Stupid, he was hard before i meet him pre all balance patching, but i was like okay this guy is making me run away like ooh crap run.

More fun than now i get one shot on T2.

The balancing has been the worst for this game.

Why are they doing this.

Maybe you need to focus on some stats like @AcidPee said. Are you following any guide for your class? That helps

I just beat him as a Rogue on T3 and absolutely hated the fight, it took so long that I nearly ported out multiple times with how long it was taking.

You’re supposed to take out the 3 minions he spawns, but he eats them up faster than I can kill them, and if he hits you he immeditately gets a shield that grows and you lose all of your resource.

It’s incredibly annoying because I feel powerful and can kill literally anything else, but this boss just takes an eternity, never fighting him again.

I thought the fight was pretty enjoyable with my lvl 53 sorceress on T3 using the foul invoker. Took a minute to figure out the shield thing and I had some nail biting moments when my barriers were down and almost ate it a few times from those tentacles.

Got him first try and was looking forward to the sweet loot after I heard of a few people getting great stuff… Two useless non sacred rares and the recipe for the T4 invoker, that’s it. I literally went back to the puscile thing in the main room and got better loot from the non wrathful invoker.

Pretty disappointed, but Diablo be Diablo.
