Echo of Lilith Rant

FEEDBACK: The echo of Lilith fight is one of the most frustrating boss battles in the game. Its not that I can’t beat her down, in fact I burst both her bars pretty quickly. Its the fact that I can’t dodge or out run the 37 purple homing orbs. What is the purpose of this “capstone”? This mechanic is ridiculous and makes me not want to play this piece of content, which keeps me from gaining one resplendent spark. Overall the game is great, its just this one battle that I feel needs to be fixed.

She is a PIA. I’d beaten her in season 2, but the changes made it rough.

The other day, someone posted a link to Raxx’s video guide on how to beat her.

My problem was the floor patterns and when the edges break off. After watching it a bunch if times, I then ran her over and over, memorizing the techniques and patterns. I finally got it and beat her twice. But, I’ll likely have to do it a few more times successfully to really get it down.

Fortunately it’s not longer part of season journey and doesn;t really block you from anything.

Just either

  • pay gold for a carry, OR
  • forget about it: during the same amount of time you’ll get more sparks from tormented bosses, and a lot of other materials.

BTW for S6, it’s the same as S4: if you beat her once in previous seasons you already got a spark with 2.0.2 patch.

She is ment to be hard. She was even harder before, she drew me nuts but at last I killed the b****.

Now she is easy, go practice. ( Easy if you have enough dps )

It’s still a poorly designed boss fight but nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Once you realize you aren’t going to burst beyond the mechanics and learn where to start/end each of the platform breaks it becomes pretty easy, but learning the fight isn’t an enjoyable experience overall.

The other day a guy said in trade, “Looking for T4 carries”. Having no idea what he actually needed, I invited him to a party. What followed was 2 hours of boss farming funded solely by this dude’s materials. It was legend.

At the end he said, “I’m out”. I thanked him for all the runs. He left the group. A couple minutes later he whispers me and says, “Can you carry me through Lilith?”

Earlier this season I died like 10 times before finally killing her, but I figured why not. I kinda owed the dude.

Very first try, I killed her. Those purple balls couldn’t touch me. I could hear someone screaming “DODGE, DUCK, DIP, DIVE AND DODGE!” throughout the entirety of phase 2. It felt pretty epic.

The problem is that the boss is not designed to be defeatable by everyone.

I mean, unlike any other bosses. Every boss in the game is designed to be defeatable, except uber lilith.

In that sense, it’s acceptable to me as long as no unique reward is blocked behind it. Just don’t consider it part of the season.

I dunno

50% of the materials required to target craft a specific mythic sounds a lot better than the boss dropping 27 of the same Unique every kill like other bosses

There’s a chasm between a fight being hard and a fight being extremely horribly designed. This fight fits squarely in the latter category.

Perhaps not everyone.

If you have the dps and can learn the mechanics, it’s not too bad. It’s not enjoyable at all though.

There isn’t a point to it, other than the spark… and we got that already this season. I just wanted to be be able to defeat her again on my own. So it was more of a me thing.

It is what it is. It’s at least an achievement when you kill her for the first time, you can’t say that for any other boss.

Yeah my biggest issue is the orbs. Even when I think i’ve dodged them and that I am clear of them I still somehow trigger one or two. This fight literally fills me with hatred and makes me want to claw my eyes out… so maybe in the eyes of the devs that is the criteria for success. LOL

They should give this boss and the rest of the bosses resilience so all the mechanics need to be done. Not everything should be a one shot. Just learn to time the platforms and have 160 run speed. Maybe even 150 is good enough. When you do it once it will be easy af every time. It’s not hard. Just practice and learn.

I did that once when I could still face tank it with EB druid in S1. That feels bad. Very bad and my heart (or the muscles around my chest; I can’t reall tell) feels uncomfortable for a few days after that.

Therefore I won’t really try hard at that any more. Too bad for my health.

Lilith maybe but absolutely not the other bosses. She is for pride; they are for farming.

Run around the edge of the map and dodge stuff.

If you cannot dodge stuff, increase movement speed.

If you are still dying, you git gud.

I was fortunate to have someone on these forums run the fight for me, so there are some willing players on here that will help.

Yep someone from here ran it for me last season.

This time, I wanted to do her myself again. So I just made it a mission to learn it. In season 2, it was easier. You could just beat her down fast and she’d die. Now, you get her health down to nothing, but you still have to go through phases.

Here’s that video that was a big help:

He goes through all the phases, and doesn’t use his full dps, so if you can get her down fast, you’ll have to kinda adjust what to do. His explanations on the platforms and those orbs are good.

My idea is to make them tough fights but not needed to spam farm. Up the material cost. Make them tough. Make mythic chance very high and if you don’t get a mythic you are guaranteed a spark. Move unique target to undercity. Have it cost 5-10 sparks to craft mythic no runes required. Add in runes and get guaranteed 2 ga. Boom proper end game.
