I’m talking about those who don’t play the game but still complain about it.
It is easier to blame others than to accept the consequences of your own actions. Part of this is human nature, the rest is lack of (in some case due to) a moral foundation. Internet anonymity doesn’t help.
This is why we get someone who click on something in game, something they don’t like happens and suddenly they are a victim. Stopping for a split second, asking what does this do since the game does not tell me then taking less than 30 seconds to look it up and inform yourself isn’t even considered.
Yet. they will take 15 minutes to log into the forums and type up a lengthy rant blaming everything and everyone for not spoon feeding them the information. The “we shouldn’t need an outside source for the info” is a weak argument. It has been stated by some random internet person that this is victim shaming. It isn’t victim shaming if you aren’t a victim.
It’s a similar mechanism. Some mix of sunk costs and argumentation providing a stimulus.
Eh some gift box and exp… is there anything interesting in those boxes? like runes or something that actually helps solo players to fight the crazy good drop rates on runes?
I tried to enjoy quests in D4 as an RPG game, but most quests give tiny rewards.

I just stumbled on EQ hero journey and for the young kids here, EQ was the greatest MMO of all time (about 1989-1992) lol and these guys have the blessing of daybreak (they ultimatly bought it from the company that bought it from studio989) anyways… they made this EQ version an “action” MMO so they tried to “speed it up” and its still very slow, i dont know why but its kinda fun playing the old EQ on steroids (you get to pick 3 classes and use abilities/spells adn skills from each.
I bet that Brevik would enjoy this version of a game
I used to be an Adventurer like you, then I took an to the Ni

You know, there is a reason that Brevik’s ideas for Diablo were not the ones used. He wanted a turn based RPG, not a real time action ARPG. He wanted things slower, he would not have done D2 the way D2 was done or D3. His own adventures with games have not brought in the audience you seem to think want those games. As famous as he is, if there was a market for it, he would have had it.
He is not even against fast paced games
While he still seems to be a fan of Brevik also has some apparent criticisms about the current state of the genre, indicating that sometimes the pacing is a little too fast
The question is, how fast is too fast? That is more a modern society issue than a specific game issue. Everything is instant. Not sure how you reverse that in society.
Yep.
This has been asked multiple tines
WHAT HAS BREVIK DONE LATELY?
Brevik was not the only creative force behind D2. The two shaeffers shared duties as game director and has had far more success post D2 than Brevik. Why is that?
Again, brevik is free to make a game of his own and show the rest of the industry how its done. Why hasnt he done that?

Answer: current game speed is too fast.
I can show you videos of vanilla gameplay or early seasons compared to S4 upwards and it IS a different game. It’s that simple. More time you spend in this frenetic gameplay, more normal it feels, but visual noise and speed is just horrible compared to D4. This game is D3 now, everyone knows it!
Here, you can read my 1 year old post after S4 release how I and Im sure not only me, was feeling. Reworking D4 to D3 was just bad imo.
Look it’s easy , we know D4 vanilla sales. It would be super nice if Blizz released VoH sales alrdy…or give us MAU numbers tbh, even better. And we stop arguing that this is the direction “everyone” wants.
It’s a shame ActiBlizz stopped releasing their annual reports…because Microsoft doesn’t specifiy IP’s in theirs
TLDR: this is waaaay too easy. im not liking where is it going Ok i can’t be the only one who feels like this game is going wrong way. Diablo 4 in season 4 is even more easier and everything is brought to the player on silver plate then S3 was. In fact game feels ATM like i’m CHEATING and playing it feels like on steroids. Playing solo trought campaign or even skipping it could be done one handed with any class now. Vanilla was challenging game this completly different edition and my question…
brevik is the one trick guy that got away with it on the first season but pretends he doesnt need to keep trying the same for better results
the guy is probably set for life moneywise and he now spends his retirement days talking smack about games he dont like rather than actually leaving his one trick shadow behind and actually do something else for once…
Hi there, I’m Casual Bob. Married just once but with three step kids and 1.5 crappy jobs. Waiting to hear back from a “real job” interview that I think went well. Here’s hopin’!
More xp means I will cap my latest seasonal necro this week. Good good. It’s precisely when things get slow and sparse with the good drops that I dip for awhile. But I always come back. Because my dad bought me a NES when I was 10, never had a single interest in video games prior but I was hooked and I still think it’s better than completely passive “entertainment” ie watching shows and like that.
So what I’m saying is make ancestrals drop like, all the time from Torment 1 on. Make 800 Torment baseline. I mean, the overwhelming majority of them will still suck and won’t even be a sidegrade. Make multiple GA pieces as rare as you like. I guess I just don’t see what the big deal is.
Casual Bob signing off~

But everything in d3/d4 targets casual bob with 50 jobs, 70 kids and 4 wives.
A game that resets your progress every 3 months is bad for casuals.
D3/D4 target no one but gambling addicts.

Ridiculous…
Then why is a season under 50 hours of gameplay over a 3 month time. D3 is even less.
You could play 3 hours a week and 100% complete the season. Less if you dont farm boss ladder.
I mean if thats what you call a game designed for anyone outside of the ultra casual mobile gamer.

Not sure how you reverse that in society.
You have someone with an actual design vision that can carry it out.
Brevik was clearly talking about Season 6 Spiritborn. Season 7 has had a bit of that pacing as well.
It’s like seeing grown men playing in the macdonald’s playplace ball pit and saying it’s fun.
