Each season 1-2 weeks of content, no end game, no rewards in pits!

Let me extend a bit on the original post which I’ve put at the end. Everything in this game, every season, is for players who do not play the game daily. Even the extra content and mid season events… and I am fine with that, glad some people are happy even though I couldn’t care less about stuff like goblins and the other rubbish.

So there is plenty of content if you only play few hours here and there. However, there is no end game for players who actually play every day, we have 1-2 weeks of content. After that we have builds that do not use skills anymore, I just walk and everything dies in T4… and I am immortal, cannot die. I only use the mouse, no casting skills, no potions, no boosts… nothing, just walk and everything dies with all my classes. So all current content, apart from 145-150 pits is soooooooooo boring. After two weeks into the season, pits are the only end game that we currently have… and they suck, absolutely pointless to play due to lack of rewards, lack of paragon and no leaderboards.

I just wish that Blizzard would spend some time on designing some kind a rewarding, interesting end game for D4. If pits are the only thing we will ever have, then please improve them.

And yeah, hordes were the only other content that was at least a bit challenging… and they removed the keys. Can’t get keys anymore, did all the chests in a Helltide and got 1, 1 lousy 6 turns key. Why? What was wrong with hordes so we can’t play anymore? Those chests with keys dropped only like 4-5 times for me this season so far, from hundreds of chests.

OP "At this point it absolutely does not matter if you do pit 100 or 150. I did pit 150 just so I can get the name tags, after that back to 110.

Please make the following changes:

  1. Make a leaderboard for pits.
  2. Increase the chance for better gear.
  3. Increase the gold for completion.
  4. Increase the xp gained in higher pit levels.

This will also help significantly with paragon leveling, right now it is a mindless grind of pits 101-110. I tried to go to 300 but could not do it, it is soooooo boring, I take my hat off to people who had the patience to grind 101 all day long.

In addition, legendary aspects are unnecessarily too difficult to get. I didn’t find any items with max aspects; friends gave me some and I bought/traded some. Still missing few that I need, even after months of playing."

Are you referring to this:

“The minimum roll for a Legendary affix on an Ancestral item is now equal to the max roll of a non-ancestral item”

Next time just type it if you already know. Anyways, yeah that should work. One down one to go.

The grind to 300 was put in as a compromise between those who wanted unlimited paragon and those who didn’t. They stated in 2023 that they didn’t want to go the route of unlimited paragon and were going to actively seek out other ways to improve your character.

Obviously this has yet to be seen. However just as they’ve said anything beyond Torment 1 is aspirational, paragon 300 is exactly the same. They even mentioned in a more recent campfire that around 200 paragon is where your build should be mostly done, and any paragon beyond that is essentially icing on the cake.

All this being said I don’t see any issues with your suggestions on principle. Makes sense to offer more reward for harder content, to an extent anyway. If each Torment Difficulty offers more exp, gold and the amount of items to drop, it would make sense that higher Pit tiers do the same.

If you treat your game as work. I do X amount of work, so I expect X amount of compensation.

If you treat your game as a game it doesn’t make sense. The increased rewards nullify the increase in difficulty. If you want more difficulty then you have to scale back the rewards. There is no reason to have 150 difficulty levels of the exact same content if not to incrementally increase the difficulty.

Currently their philosophy is that each Torment difficulty offers greater rewards than the previous. So by their own logic would it not make sense for Pits to do the same?

Again why I stated I agree on principle. I don’t see an issue with having greater risk coming with greater reward, it’s rather a staple in life at times. All that being said, I’ve always been an advocate of more options as well. Which the current amount of Pit Tiers offers for those who choose to see how far their builds can go.

Where you see nullification I see motivation. I’d say the majority of us are driven by reward in some form. Now for you, that may just be completing the highest difficulty possible with no additional reward, for others they want to feel their time is being valued by being rewarded while tackling on higher difficulty.

If all that’s waiting for you at the end of the rainbow is just solid ground, some people (not all) might not be as motivated to reach it. All about balance in my opinion, but I don’t think either side is wrong.

I doubt this change would be implemented mind you, but I’d have no issues if it was.

What is the point of pit scaling when there are no rewards?

Not everything is and shouldn’t be about rewards. It’s as simple as that, either you like it or not.

Also, WTF with the necro?

The pit “reward” in high levels is the exp. If you want farm paragon 300, you need to farm fast pits for 100+ hours. I guess its blizzards idea of “fun” gameplay.
