Im not the first to criticize the system, and it also has its advantages as it enables easy group formation.
But lower level players can easily contribute more or equally to the group than higher level players. That is soo backwards and wrong.
In the good old days the higher level player would have the highest status in a group because he would contribute more, thats all gone. And there would be a cosmetic progression where high level people would look better, thats also gone with the cash shop. All status symbols are being eradicated to appeal to the casuals.

Where are you in the game? Scaling is just so you don’t one shot everything and can farm any area. A higher level character still has significant advantages compared to low level ones. Keystones and Glyphs are huge power spikes.
Enjoy the game with everyone else, don’t worry you will still be much more powerful that the average joe, if that’s your thing.

There is no advantage. MrLlama is a very good player and at level 95 he gets carried by level 70 chars that bombs everything he struggles with. This is a complete failure of game design.
Everything that provides status is evaporated in this game to appeal to casuals. Another example is the titles, everyone has like a gazillion titles to choose from. When they hand them out like that it means nothing anymore.
Everyone has full legendaries at level 20ish, leaderboards wont exist long time after release, etc. All these things are decisions made by the devs, its not random.

It’s more a problem with a near total lack of progression once you get Sacreds and good aspects for your sacreds. This happens between lvl 50-80, depending on your build.
Turns out when monsters keep getting stronger but you get a +5 to Dex through a Paragon node…you’re on the losing end of the scaling attrition war.
Paragon in general needs a rework, it doesn’t work well with the scaling system they implemented.

A better system would be to have in world tier 1 and 2 during levelling every zone has a level range., more similar to a “typical non scaling campaign experience” You loose the option to go wherever you want, but id argue it feels better progression wise anyway.
Last zone while levelling goes up to level 50.
Then world tier 3 is a static lvl 50, 55 or 60 zone. Then world tier 4 is static lvl 70. Helltide could be static lvl 75. Then once you are above lvl 70-75 you start to get less and less xp from the open world because they start to get under levelled vs yourself. Then you need to get into Nightmare dungeons to fight higher level mobs and thus more XP.
Sounds like he isn’t all that good.
How is it all gone? If you are experienced player then you will be way more powerful than anyone on low level, if you are clueless about what you are doing then well… you won’t.
The only farmable content that provides challenge doesn’t scale anyway (nightmare dungeons). So the hell is this all about.
I think you have this backwards. Experienced players understand how this works. It’s all the people who have no clue that are saying “I am becoming weaker as I level” not sure how you got this so wrong.

Yea experienced players are over here understanding that higher levels mean additional skill points and later Paragon points which lead to more optimized builds.
It’s the complete novices that seriously think a low level is going to out perform them in group content.

Nope, ill just find my validation here, but dont worry about it. I think these status symbols are important in these and many other types of games. No reason to pretend otherwise.
