Can anyone help me? I downloaded Diablo 4 on a new gaming PC that runs a Dx12 card, but when i go to launch the game or says Dx12 not found.
I have unistalled and re-installed multiple times. I have rebooted my PC multiple times. I have even reset my router, but none of those have worked.
I just want to play Diablo, but it won’t let me. However i installed WoW and it launches just fine. I’m at my wits end. If anyone has any ideas or ways to help me fix this issue, i would be eternally grateful
What are your PC specs? This is unlikely an issue with the game (could still be of course, even if unlikely) or your network and more of an issue with your PC not being recognized as DX12 compatible, you can run a DxDiag by pressing Windows key + R (or click the windows start button and type “run” then launch that) and type “dxdiag” You will get a little window that pops up and under “system” it will say “DirectX Version.” See if it says DirectX 12 there.
You could try using DDU in safe mode to fully wipe your video card driver, then re-install the latest one from Nvidias/AMDs website. Other things you could do is test other DX12 games and see if they run properly in DX12 as well.
Lastly, I believe there is a way to force the game to run on Dx11 via using DXCPL but I could never very far with that, as I didn’t have it on my system. You can maybe try running the game in compatibility mode or maybe “run this program as administrator” as well to see if that works.
Keep in mind, it may not help, if the version installed is up to date already as Windows 11 for example comes with DX12 pre-installed.
Another thing to look for, but I doubt it will cause this problem, is that your game is not set to run in compatibility mode. To check this, you locate the Diablo IV.exe file, right click it, and check the compatibility tab, make sure nothing is checked in there.
Make sure you have enough RAM. 16GB or more is highly recommended for this game.

Did you have an older one that you have played the game on?
Did that system also happen to use a Microsoft account and did your PC use OneDrive?
IF SO.
You might have a conflict with the game settings file located in Documents\Diablo IV\ that may have been backed up and relayed to the new computer. The settings from the previous PC might not work on the new PC. (I had to disable my laptop from backing up the pref files for my Blizzard games because it uses different settings for those games from my desktop PC)
Find and rename the file called LocalPrefs.txt while the game and Battlenet are closed. Then try again.
