Dungeon Reset from inside

Im not sure if im playing Diablo4 correctly when it comes to farming a dungeon or bosses.

Once i have finished the dungeon i cannot reset the dungeon from inside , so i need to go through 2 loading screens that consist of exiting the dungeon, then resetting and then going back inside, which seems excessive when its designed so that you need to do this repeatedly but the mechanics of how you do it are not improved for smooth gameplay… :biting_lip:

  • Im unable to understand why if i need to reset the dungeon that i need to do the extra part to waste time, it also comes across as a flaw from a gameplay pov.
  • Just like how you can open another NMD at the end of completing one, but then it wont give you the quick tracker with spacebar on the map for the fast travel and you have to manually scroll to the map.

So my question:

  • Is there a way to reset the dungeon from inside after completing it, that will only have me go through 1 loading screen and place me at the beginning of a brand new dungeon? or is it too technologically advanced? :person_shrugging:

I just dont see how Diablo has progressed this far and has the players having to use the mechanics in this way and not created a more fluid method yet.
Or im doing it wrong, idk. :v:

No current way to reset a Dungeon from the inside at the moment. Why this is the case, can’t say. Only a dev would really be able to answer that, and they don’t come to the forums to answer technical questions like this.

Now is this pertaining to a NMD you have multiple sigils for? So you click on the NMD Sigil which just so happens to be the dungeon you’re in and it doesn’t reset it? Or is this a normal dungeon you’re running for whatever reason and you want to reset it from the inside so you don’t have to leave just to come back in?

I would guess, on some technical level, it has to reset the instance ID for you. So for example you enter Dungeon A and you get Instance ID - 12. However being in the instance itself it can’t just reassign you a new ID, because to the server you’re still there. So it would have to boot you out, or reload you entirely into a new instance.

Which on some technical level probably could be done, you’d just get a loading screen and pop back up at the beginning of the dungeon (while still inside of course). I don’t know how hard or easy that would be to implement mind you, but it seems logical from a layman’s understanding.

I’m going to take a guess and say you are talking mostly about the loot boss dungeons. If so then why stop at resetting the dungeon from the inside? Why do we even have to reset the dungeon? In S2 the bloodtide altars just reset themselves after the event was done and you could reuse the altars. Same for S3 and summoning the son of Malphas. And even in S4 we have the altar to summon the helltide boss event. Why the hell can’t this be used for the boss altars in the dungeons? Why do we have to reset the dungeon and run through low level mobs over and over again for no real purpose? Just respawn the altar and let us run the boss event again. And for the love of god do something about the Beast in the Ice dungeon because that is a whole lot of running through nothing just to get to the boss.

Thats unfortunate that they dont come in here.

No i used the NMD as an example, what i was specifically talking about was dungeon and boss farming, the SIGILS for NMD farming also have their own weird quirk that needs to be done from outside the dungeon or you dont get the map zoom with spacebar.

So… its just a thing that everyone needs to go through 2 loading screens and the clunky reset dungeon with the quest log.
I guess i can put this down to the devs dont play the game enough to farm and see the repetitive system mechanics that could be improved to make diablo4 a better game.
