Im a bit confused me and the wife both bought a Dualsense edge controller specifically to play D4 , is it not supported because I couldnt get ours to work at all. We had to resort back to Dualshocks. Can we get a blue post on here so I dont have to create a twitter account?

I would also like to know if Dualsense Edge works / will work.

The controller works through USB. I have not attempted to use it wireless with D4.

Dualsense Controller works when connected thru usb c cable.

Sorry to hijack your thread but i have an issue where the game automatically locks at 30fps when I use any input from the controller. Then back to unlocked framerate when using muse and keyboard. I heard that others dont have this issue. Does anybody have an idea why it happens?

Duel sense edge still not working?

to me doesent work none on wireless or cable

You can add non Steam games through steam. Add Diablo 4 to Steam and Launch Diablo through Steam and your Duel sense edge should work. It’ll be recognized as an Xbox controller, but It’ll still work.

For anyone not reading, the dual sense worked fine, it’s the dual sense edge that doesn’t have support, the ps5 pro controller.

And yeah, I’m not going to try to to be nice about it. You constantly release these games with bugs and lacking optimization, and now I can’t even use my preferred controller. Add support or I will get a refund. I hope others follow suit as well.

Yes, I can also confirm that it’s still a no-go with the PS DualSense Edge™ controller out of the box, without any emulation or tweak of some sort.

Sound output works in Diablo IV though, if you select the DualSense Edge as output device in Windows and connect a pair of headphones to the controller then you will hear all game sounds.

This is the easy approach by connecting it to the PC with the USB-A to USB-C cable. I have both and:

  • Start Diablo IV, wait on character screen
  • Connect original DualSense
  • Press a button on the controller and Diablo immediately switches to controller tooltips
  • Disconnect DualSense (Diablo reverts to keyboard tooltips)
  • Connect DualSense Edge
  • Press a button - nothing happens…

It works perfectly in Windows (11) after updates from Sony and Microsoft. Any game or controller test software (including Direct X/Input) recognize the Edge controller.

Since the DualSense Edge really is a normal/original DualSense from a hardware perspective but built differently, I would guess it boils down to the device name and maybe ID.

The DualSense Edge device is named “DualSense Edge Wireless Controller” by the Windows Device Manager and the original is named “DualSense Wireless Controller”.

So, a small controller detection “fix” in the next update maybe? Please

[ Just a quick follow-up and perhaps to spare someone an hour or so… It doesn’t help to change the “Friendly Name” in Windows and the Device Manager to the regular controller name, i.e. “DualSense Wireless Controller” instead of “DualSense Edge Wireless Controller”. The device name comes from the controller but Windows store (and use) a copy “locally” to avoid querying the device every time. But… Changing that USB info in Windows doesn’t help in this case so you will have to use a device emulator - until Diablo IV is updated with support for the DualSense Edge (or do some more Windows hacks). This was a quick test. ]

The best option right now is downloading DSX from Steam (costs few euro’s/ dollars but worth every penny). Its the paid and continued version of DS4.

You can try with DS4 however with the known win11 problems. DSX doesnt have these (for example blocked drivers etc).

DSX is actually able to load the DualShock 4 driver and it works perfectly fine with diablo and all other games that do not yet support the Edge.
Doing so will also give you the correct buttons in Diablo 4.

I forgot to post this much earlier, I added D4 to steam and launch it as a non steam game, with all my steam settings set up for a controller and it’s worked everytime. I get the Xbox button overlay, but at least it works. It might take blizzard two years to address this issue.

Greetings, fellow Diablo 4 PC enthusiasts! I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. Recently, I discovered a fantastic program called DSX on Steam, available for approximately $5, that has allowed me to use my DualSense controller seamlessly with Diablo 4 on PC. Essentially, this program emulates either an Xbox or PS4 controller, and it works flawlessly. I thought I’d let you all know about this amazing solution since it appears that our posts haven’t caught the attention of anyone at Blizzard. Hopefully, this information proves helpful to you as well!

Can confirm the problem. The Dualsense (base/vanilla model) works just fine on PC with Diablo 4, when using a wired connection. The Dualsense Edge (firmware version 0120) does not work over a wired connection, despite the controller activating other programs (Discord key binds, for instance, work just fine). This seems…nonsensical, given how well the Dualsense base model works with the game and the Edge working otherwise.

And no, a secondary program such as DSX, especially given it’s a paid solution even at $5, and/or running the game by launching through Steam do not count as solutions to this issue. It is especially not a solution if the result is an XBox button overlay in-game, instead of the otherwise working PS overlay.

You guys, just launch D4 through as non steam game and the DualSense edge works fine. You can mod the controller, I do the same thing on the Steam Deck. I paid the 5 for DSX though. 5 dollars for all that works, a bargin, if you cant pay 5 bucks to have any controller setup you want at anytime with complete customization, stop complaining. Clearly you don’t care that much. Ill be playing D4 with my PS2VR ccontrollers just for the lulz. I am gonna send you a video.

DSX is amazing for 5.99

aaaand still not patched with 1.03 :frowning:

Its especially not that solution giving you an xbox overlay but the solution giving you a DS overlay and will let you modify the haptic triggers. Additionally it doesnt really emulate if you choose the “dual shock 4” mode as it kind of enables a pass through mode between the games DS4 signals to the Dual Sense controller. It basically fakes the the Edge to be a DS4.

Experiencing the same problem. No input received by the game. It works perfectly with regular PS5 controller.
