Dual wolf/bear builds

Has anyone played around with all the items that work with dual shift builds? I’m tempted but I’m not sure how to go about it. Seems like you almost need two core skills? i’m not really sure. I want to give it a try but I’m also scared to dump a lot into it and then it not work out.

I don’t see how a companion could fit on such a build but they are so much damage on their own that I’m not exactly thrilled about giving up my poison creeper

Wondering the same. Just started lvl 25 going more bear and vines with pulverize. Plus roar and passive for fortitude

yeah I did it for a bit, it works fine but straight pulverize earth build outshines it.

there is an interesting legendary - wolf and bear skills works with Nature’s fury talent. and there are legendaries that convert Pulv to earth, and Wolf skills to Storm. can be playable around.

So your saying don’t use adds like vines? Honestly it has saved my hide several times. I enjoy mad pulls. Plus reduced damage from enemies.

Oh that sounds like a nice combo with what I’m working with right now.

I actually just found a Sacred Unique for Werebear + Werewolf builds, but I have not tested it out yet.

my first random unique is this ring that has werewolf kills = free no cd bear ability.
bear kills = werewolf skills heal for 199-399

oh I am 100% using vine its so good. I’m just thinking of how many abilities a wolf/bear would need and I don’t know how the build could fit companion on it.

oo that’s pretty cool, do you think that would instant refresh Grizzly Rage ultimate?

For ~10 levels in the early game I was using the Aspect that makes Bear/Wolf double as Earth/Storm for the Nature’s Fury passive, and it was hilarious. Maul would shoot out bolts of wind and my Blood Howl threw a Boulder. A rapid shapeshifter build is viable, but like most Druid builds, is gear-dependent far more than other Classes. Without the right Aspects, any Druid build performs at maybe 50%, but with said Aspects, your power jacks up to 200%. There is also the Aspect that gives you some buff (forget offhand) every time you change form.

How does t hat aspect work exactly? Is it controllable like you get to cast a free storm/earth skill or does it just throw those skills out on its own passively?

I don’t have it but I get the combination.

The Legendary Aspect makes all werebear skills also count as earth magic. All werewolf skills count as storm magic.

The other part is a Key Passive that says when you cast a earth/storm spell, ther is a 20% chance to autocast, for free, a storm/earth spell in the same catagory. In practice it would be like you cast hurricane and randomly a boulder comes out as well. Or cast boulder and suddenly hurricane.

The idea is then that wolf howl is a storm skill so when you do it you have a 20% chance to put a earth barrier on you as well. Or do the bear roar since that would count as a earth skill.

Or when you do Trample(Werebear skill) you may also put rabies on them or suddenly spawn a hurricane around you.

Hope that explained it well enough for ya

It is a random cast when it procs, but draws from the same category of the skill tree. For example, using Blood Howl (now a Storm Skill) can trigger an Earth skill of that category, like Earthen Bulmark. (I misspoke earlier when I mentioned Boulder-Howl). Pulvervize, now an Earth Skill, could spawn either Tornado or Lightning Storm.

oh thats actually super cool

I’m running a wolf/bear poison

Claw-poison
Pulverize
Earthen
Position creeper
Rabies
And cataclysm for aoe funness haha
Grizzly rage would be better if you can make poison last long enough

But with the aspect of changeling’s debt damaging a poisoned enemy with a werebear skill will instantly deal 120% of the poisoning damage and consume it but the 120% (240% on weapon):metal::saluting_face:

Just testing the water with it so far

Plus pulverize and poison creepers make landslides and have earth damage bonuses

Ive been running a poison earth build thats been a lot of fun. Im only lvl 55 right now. Im using claw, pulverize, poison creeper, hurricane, trample, petrify, and natures fury.
I use the two pulverize aspects, creeper aspect, shapeshift healing aspect, trample slide aspect, and the others im still playing around with.
I also havent decided on which malignant hearts to use. I do like the agitated winds heart, you get cyclone all the time and it procs bulwark. I also plan on using the double landslide aspect and the natures fury aspect too.
I use fortify and shapeshifting for defense and healing. Im sure ill have to switch to a defensive skill but trample has unstoppable so i use that for now. You can also try the aspect that multiplies and consumes poison after a werebear skill.
The build is definitely a work in progress, but im having fun with it. Im also thinking about making a boulder or landslide build.

Bestial rampage is strong, but not easy to keep up.

Your question: do i need a second basic skill?
Answer: two solutions, or you spam two cores in a row to reach 2.5 secs, or you use one of the unique chestpieces. The chest will transform you between fights. Easier to keep both buffs up.
