I noticed in the Fenris log in my D4 files that I see bad pack container id 7fffffffff. How do I remove and clean install the game files?
Well, you can make sure that Battle.net is shut down and not running.
Go to the game folder where the files are kept. (default is C:\Program Files(x86)\Diablo IV)
Delete the Data folder (you can also rename it if you have the drive space)
Relaunch the Battle.net app. It should then have an option to update or reinstall the game files. Yes all 45 or 91 GB of it. (depending on if you use the high res packs or not)
Keep in mind, you only need the high res packs for resolutions above 1080p, such as 1440p or 4k.
Is it better to install without the high res packs?
If you don’t need them, it will help sure.
I run them on my desktop since I have a 1440p screen, but not on my laptop.
After cleaning the files and loggint back in to the game/battlenet, it auto updated and I had the high res pack already loaded (so 90g). Oh well. I will let you know tomorrow how things fare. IF this is unsuccessful I will try to pastebin next Fenris crash. Thanks for your help
