Dswing barb hitting for over 1.5 - 2m

Personally, when I hit 100 and finished my paragon board I’ll see where I stand and how things stack up.

I rolled my barb before the patch and the design from the start was to want to have a dual wielding barb with a kinda frantic playstyle versus running a bunch of shouts and slamming the ground or spinning around.

So far it’s working…zero shouts, played with some perks and my double swing spams hit for close to a million now without unbridled…without maxed glyphs, and while still missing 40+ paragon points.

That being said… if I need to shift to unbridled or if I need to even give weapon swapping a try to beat lilith or push high end nightmare dungons, I will do what it takes. However, if I have to deviate from my initial goal of playing a dual wielding barb, I’m much less likely to want to roll barb again for season 1.

Have you tried Imbiber? I see dudes are using it to boost their Attack Power number. Do you know if it boosts the flat damage of Double Swing on the tree?

Imbiber? Im guessing they use it more for the potion healing and the dmg is a bonus?

The barb paragon board has glyphs slots with higher willpower potential (54) than dex potential (49). Plus your best dex node should be reserved for expoloit.

Also at max rank Imbiber gives 9.8% damage per node while healthy; only territorrial (close targets) is higher at 10% but it’s a dex rune, so technically imbiber has the highest additive damage buffing potential of all glyphs.

That being said… I am healthy less often with my barb than I might be with other classes. To be fortified and receive those benefits you need your fortify equal to or over your current health, so I try only to pot when I really need it… (especially since I run 2 damage reduction while injured perks) If you use pots to stay healthy for Imbiber you may be giving up some time where you would otherwise be fortified.

It massively increases the attack power. Almost doubles it. I’m curious to see if it increases the flat damage. Mine isn’t leveled, so I can’t check it.

I don’t think you should put too much weight in the “attack power” number. Imbiber just straight up increases attack power while healthy, so it’ll show up on your character sheet in town or just in general any time you are max health it will show a high attack power.

However, if you use Bloodfeeder (for example) it will only apply versus a bleeding enemy, so it will never show up on your character’s attack power stat, but all the math and numbers work just as well for bloodfeeder against a bleeding target as Imbiber while healthy.

The only arguments favoring imbiber is not the attack power on the character sheet (IMO). Instead its

  1. Imbiber is a willpower node, so higher possible benefit (Bloodfeeder is dex)
  2. Bloodfeeder maxes out at 8% damage bonus at level 21 versus Imbiber’s 9.8.

The attack power on character sheet is not to be relied on for build quality. Armor, yes, health, yes, but not attack power. too many conidtionals

Interesting.

Ill test it. Was using revenge as a last slot.

I’m aware of the potentially deceptive attack power stat, I’m just curious if our flat damage goes up with the glyph. Flat damage is where it all starts from, and you want that to be as high as possible. Healthy is anything above 80%, not full life, and I’m Healthy 90%+ of the time. If it almost doubles our flat, it’ll most definitely be worth it.

Gotcha… so you’re wondering if “Increases damage” might be a separate bucket from “Increase damage while x” or “Increases damage versus x”

Personally, I don’t think so, but it sounds like it’d be worth testing… Looking at the raw numbers, it’s still technically the strongest glyph if you ignore bonuses and just look at the raw damage potential.

Considering I’ve decided to actively avoid thorns (and therefore the revenge glyph) to prevent unintentional exploit triggers, I think this one might be worth testing as a replacement on my Blood Rage board glyph spot.

Yeah. I’m not sure if it’s a separate bucket, I just want to see the flat increase.

Oroyee posted his build on YouTube, anyone able to translate it?

He has a video in english too

You right lol I didn’t see he posted the English one first.

His build is very similar to mine, but he uses Challenging and Ironskin. Glyphs are more defensive, and he stacks more reduction from distant than I do.

I wonder why he says straight damage reduction is bad on chest and pants?

Here is a planner link for his build. h ttps://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/g02xw011

He doesn’t have too much berserk uptime

I have ire instead of Marshall. Can’t see that marshal is worth it in his build

Hes using marshal for the 125% node boost, which honestly comes out ahead of most glyhps depending on where you put it.

Yea i use mighty in the decimator board. Extra vulnerability and damage reduction.

You try Imbiber yet? Any flat boosts?

I just found a perfect Umbral. Finally. Makes a difference, but would probably be better with Needleflare.

Hmm so maybe it’s worth dropping ire for Marshall? I’ll try and do the maths…
