Druid - Why is this the worst class in every aspect?

@Blizzard when are you going to fix Druid? Arguably the worst class in every single aspect. Requires perfect for EVERY legendary AND has to have uniques to be viable. Meanwhile Sorcs 10 levels lower than me can do sigils 10 levels higher then me. Explain exactly why that is?

When are we going to balance classes to where you don’t have classes that are clearly anti fun to play? Can’t do pulverize because frankly doesn’t do enough. Can’t do werewolf because it doesn’t do enough UNLESS you get the crone staff which btw has a .5% chance to drop ever. Can’t do poison because it’s unreliable and low damage, which means even with the shred leggo you still can’t do consistent damage. Can’t play straight nature because there aren’t enough legendaries to support that in any way shape or form.

So human SUCKS. Bear SUCKS. Wolf SUCKS. only way to make it not suck is to get Mad Wolf’s Glee, Crone Staff, And Tempest roar to do ghetto cheap damage.

WHEN ARE WE FIXING THIS?! As it stands, I have my druid to 80. And when seasons come out I will be saying F%$K THIS to druid and rerolling. Absolutely terrible. I keep playing hoping it’ll get better but nothing.

Play sorc and necro to the same level then pretend druid is the worst class.

None of these uniques are required to make the wolf not suck. Without knowing what your stats are I can only guess that your damage bucket rolls on whatever you’re using is not good.

I kind of feel like you’re just rage venting, and I get it, but, what build are you using. And, what paragon tree’s are you using, what glyphs did you put in them, and what level are they?

Sadly although i kinda agree, posts like this dont work because blizzards attitude is “they want balance so nerf all the other classes” rather than buff druids which is what you want.
Personally druids are kinda on par with sorcerers (i cant speak for necro), what druids really need are –

More storm/nature aspects and uniques that dont involve shapeshifting skills.

More energy as it drains way to quick.

Better looking outfits - im sick of antlers and outfits with my man boobs hanging out the sides or looking like a shaman from WOW!

More axes and hammers that match the staffs as staffs are a lot more powerful - i havent used a hammer or axe since lvl 30 something as they are weak compared to the staffs that drop.

Bigger horses so we dont look like an elephant riding a childs bicycle.

Personal preference i would like to use 2 handed swords aswell please.

They can fix Druids by doing just 3 things:

If you are a Human caster druid, add passive spirit generation while in Human form to a rare node or legendary node.

Buff the hell out of Spirit generation to our basic skills.

Fix tornado tracking on the “Tornadoes track enemies” legendary effect. I have cast them and watched them just slowly move to a total stop with enemies RIGHT BESIDE ME. I tested this game in prior testing sequences, and Tornadoes used to move faster, last longer once cast, and did a lot more damage via ticking more often on targets.

They DESTROYED that without a single word in any patch notes.

Needless to say, I was in for a major disappointing shock after the game went live.

I can’t even figure out why they did it.

There wasn’t a single soul on this EARTH who said the words, “Druids are overpowered.”

Some of the decisions this team makes is completely dumbfounding and cryptic. I can’t even wrap my head around why they make some of the changes they do.

There’s also quite a few legendary effects and uniques missing from the game…

I understand the frustration. I’m definitely in solidarity with you on the gear aspect of needing more “semblance of stat drops” so that they are more in-line with each other.

I will counter that I’ve built up three rerolls on the same character post-70 to find my “groove” and between “human lightning/boulder core”, “stormclaw” & “stormclaw companion hybrid”, as well as “bear companion tank” type builds I’m finding they all have something to offer. I’ve pulled upwards of 200k (not 90+ yet) and it’s been fine on each. Currently I’m running sigils 8 levels higher without issue as a tank and it’s relatively fast with a pulverize main build.

The problem as you stated is gear stats being so dispersed. We’re such a versatile class that it’s all over the place for us with so many choices to build off of. On top of that, having stats that have wildly exaggerated differences in stat #s. For druid, if we’re going to get drops that are so different in stat types i.e. “+% lightning crit” and “boulder” being on the same item, they need to tighten up the numbers so we’re not just trying to reroll the % on desired stats, but also trying to wipe another completely useless stat.

Honestly, this is the case for every class, but this seems higher for us because of the combinations built around human, wolf and bear.

The problem is really just time invested into the character. I offer this vid as an example of a human comp build though.

Necro bone spear can clear just bout anything gets a free immune with blood mist then gets fully fortifies with bone storms with increaded crit as well. Corpse tendicles cc and adds dlow effect after so no necro is fine. Sor is a different story all together

Druids are unkillable wrecking balls as bears. Is the dps lower and takes longer to kill stuff? Yeah absolutely. Can you face tank everything with permanent fortify, shields, DR and never drop any hp? Absolutely. Why one of my builds is a thorns build, I can pull 4-5 rooms in NM 50 and then afk go make a snack and when I come back its all dead.

Can you share your build and gear?

I’m pulverizer build and I still have to dodge frost mobs/poison/ice and vulnerable attacks and pop potions.

Sounds amazing.

Legit just thorns, hp stacking (this makes fort bigger), barrier lego on elites, hp regen. Go in into mobs debilitating roar, earth barrier, go afk

Druids are in a good spot, you just need the right gear. Currently level 83 and I can clear wt4 55-60 NM dungeons with ease as a werewolf tornado build, only unique is my helm. Before that I ran pulverize werebear like everyone else but switched to tornadoes for super fast boss kills.

It’s not the worst class in every aspect. I’ve played a few classes. The game in general just feels bad.

thanks.

I’m currently 76 druid pulverizer and I’m doing low 40s NM dungeons. But I’m still dodging and weaving of course lol.

I can face tank the butcher in nightmare without using a potion both with pulverize and werewolf… try reading the maxroll build guide

The only time the afk build struggles is when you encounter an elite with lifesteal. Then you both kinda just look at each other screaming why wont you die :rofl::rofl:

I don’t know what the metric is for sucking vs every other class but I’m playing a human lightning build and clearing tier 37 nm dungeons at the moment at level 77. I think that’s fine. Sure if I find a tempest roar I’ll immediately jump up 10 tiers but it still feels fine.

Spirit regents really not a problem once you get an umbrals aspect. 4 spirit every time you crowd control. Use earth spike as your generator and use the aspect that makes earth skills slow enemies and one maybe two auto attacks fills your spirit bar.

Even before umbrals you can just use earthen might and the aspect that applies to lightning as well. So every time you hit an enemy you have a 5% chance to gain 100% spirit and it procs all the time.

I know you’re just being nice…

But I didn’t ask for play advice or class advice. I’ve got a 100 Druid clearing 60 Nightmare dungeons and I can get Echo of Lilith to 30%, hopefully down soon.

druid is fine m8 but maybe not the class for you, if you want to blow everything in front of you away this is not the class for it, you need to work for it playing a druid.

My lvl 100 shred with max glyph levels cant progress thru T60.
Mostly because the class has bugs with aspects and glyphs.

Will be fun to see how good shred will be “when” these issues are fixed.
