Druid Tornado Build

Was curious from those of you that have tried different tornado builds if there is any big difference between the Werewolf Tornado guide on Maxroll vs Moxsy’s Vampnado with the pets, or any other tornado build for that matter. Or if anyone has a better one they recommend.

I have been using and I like the Maxroll build so far, but the damage seems to be on the low end of things.

Thanks!

Maxroll is horrible, I have my own setup and it’s superior by miles.

Shifted from Maxroll’s and incorporated Moxy’s pets. This is in eternal, so no crazy vampire powers (like that +50% attack speed buff). Also had to keep a basic attack to generate spirit as no tibault’s will/vampiric dash combo.

Replaced blood howl & hurricane with Wolves & birds. Replaced Vigorous aspect & Airidah’s Inexorable Will ring slots with the shepherds & stampede aspects.

I tried replacing debilitating roar with poison creeper. The max damage with a 2-hander average around 500k per tick with spikes up to 1.6M when overpower & crit proced. However, could not do NM dungeons over 90 as the build became too squishy. It took too long to get enough tornadoes out to start stacking crits and armor to survive.

So ultimately kept debilitating roar and the 1hand/totem, for a better balance of damage and defense.

It’s increased damage for tornado damage by about x2.5 from the earlier build. Had to keep the 1 handed + totem for attack speed and CDR to keep debilitating roar down to 17 sec and non-stop grizzly rage up (still had to use flicker step, though). Attack speed is +50%

Overall, while sacrificing some survivability, the damage is now satisfying.

Tornado still has to chase after enemies. Which lowers DPS. Unlike Season 1 where druids could just pull in the enitre map, watching tornados trying to find targets is depressing.

For faster helltide farming, can equip the malignant ring. Usually around 9 minutes to gather 300 cinders. In high NM dungeons, it’s debatable whether or not you want to pull a lot of mobs to you

Hi, nice question.
In my opinion, maxroll and similar have about 80% potential.
Beside, depend of ur play style too, 70% probably.
Is a nice guides, help for start and medium-high lvl playing D4.
Just my opinion.
Pd: blzrd havent spa forum ?

Audacity helps with the giant pull by a lot. Was my setup for Season 1. The malignant ring has some issues. It doesn’t continuously pull. Only acitivate at Ultimate cast. Still good effect, just some problems.

Audacity is a cool combo with the ring. Those few precious seconds plus a debilitating roar with the aspect of the dark howl to root the pack would defeat most elite packs even in high NM dungeons. But what aspect to give up? Guess if they don’t hit you maybe u don’t need as much defense

That’s how my pulverize shapeshifter works. My DR is in the toilet with only the dr from hurricane and only running might aspect which I will swap to disobedience one I hit NM 80+

The name of the game is kill first or be killed and when I smash the ground and see a wave of 5-7 million damage numbers move across the screen my DR does not matter one bit. I’ve got two “oh shhh” buttons though and I use them a lot.

Playing the game with several uniques will do this to you.

I’m played pulverize Druid first and it was a lot of fun, glad to see it still dominating!

Yep I think the balance is pretty good for druid right now. No really broken builds, and to complete the most challenging stuff we have to make trade offs between damage and survivability or utility.

It’s cool that we can roll in some uniques to replace our ‘optimal build’ gear and still be viable. But would also be cooler if finding uniques were as exciting as they were back in D2 days.

My only Uber is a melted heart and I tried it out with werenado and it doesn’t work. Guess tornadoes are too spirit heavy. At least in NM 90+ dungeons
