When I was fighting ashava I would use the wear-bear charge ability to reposition during the fight and noticed that every time I would hit one of the poison pools on the ground it would stop me in my tracks. Also had a few instances where taking damage from and enemy would stop me as well. Sometimes the charge would hit a single monster and end the animation leaving me feeling like I hit a brick wall. Is this intended or is it broken?
It didnt stop you… it snared you. The pools would slow you. As i mained a druid most of this weekend and killed the world boss 4x on the druid.
Depending on the distance if you hit a poison pool to would snare you making you come up short on the charge. Trampling through multiple pools didnt help.
I was able to trample throulh one pool fine but if it were 2 or 3 it would cut my distance by more the half. About the same as like dashing.
Ok that makes sense. I was really confused by it when it happened but didn’t have much time to play and test it out more. I appreciate the info
Ashava , is a pain in the @#$% for melee skills.
Werewolf form kinda sucked at the fight
I would rack up enough spirt to slap in shred trying hit 3 combo and Ashava would either frog hop away or turn and instant aggro on me. I would chase if not instantly aggro that dragon would turn and face me and try and chomp me or would line up a ground smash.
I swear spent more time trying to dodge or running back form the grave yard then actually melee her. Ashava has got beef with melee fighters in her space.
I died a lot on the bea fighting her but for server slam I had a few runs with no deaths on mele build. But not as ww because I felt it was weak
They buffed the Transformations of the Druid, both Werebear and Werewolf…I actually tried the Werebear this time…first Betas I did Earth and Wind…I was surprised how well I did and even better after I threw in Creeping Vines…they buffed Werewolf too but didn’t get to test it…
These kind of mobile fights are awful when you are forced to bring a mobility skill to keep up and the mechanics of the fight also limit your mobility skill. Because I leaned into pets I didn’t have trample so I relied on double dodge boots to simulate the same thing. The issue being is she turns and bites in the direction you are coming or does her ground AOE on your head as you complete the second dodge becomes an instant death.
I ended up running to her new location throwing my pets along the way. Getting in a couple pulverize and a few basic attacks before repeating the process.
I’m execute she jumps so often that your cooldowns aren’t ready yet so it end up being less damage to the boss during this phase as a Druid with this playstyle. Spenders are so expensive that you get limited there as well. The real class issue is resource regeneration and a severe lack of it.
No mobility and no regeneration makes for a slog through the game.
It would be cool if Air/Wind spells would be stronger outdoor while the Earth spells could be more dangerous indoor in dungeons.
I hope we can see more temporary skills to seasons or in future expansions for the existing classes. I wish they could have added such skills like
- summon Earth Elemental / Storm (Air) Elemental to fight on your side
- lighting charge (Storm skill) - add temporary lighting damage to the weapons of the Druid and allied characters
- swamp (Earth magic) - enemies are slowed down in an area
- echo (Air magic) - locate the slightly distant enemies on the mini map, but it can alert them (mapping distance could be higher indoor)
- alpha (Werewolf) - call additional wolves
- levitate / feathers (Air magic) - floates in the air in the battle, but it makes the Druid immobile or the Druid can push himself up instead of climbing
- blood moon (Shapeshifting) - passive % resistance or immunity to hostile blood magic in Werewolf or Werebear form
- convert (Nature) - passive % chance that wild, non-corrupted animals will not attack you or they will even serve you
I mainly used trample just to reposition with double dodge boots and ended up having a flawless run but I felt dps was underwhelming. Could just be that I was lvl 20 though time will tell after launch
