Now this is from Igor Sidorenko, a Blizz employee (not an outsourced artist like those who work on various armor and horse skins):

Note that they are indeed designed to be on the thick side.
What do you think? Does what we have in game mirror the concept art?
BTW PC Druid is different from the Scosglen NPC Druids. This is the latter:

John Cena proportions, huge arms narrow shoulders.
I look like that too, in concept.
Fat druid looks like a badass biker dude.
Thin druid just looks like forest hobo.
The first concept art, you can see they start to get fattier! But the second one is way better and i prefer it on the second concept art! Please Blizzard give us that choiccce. It is the whole reason I’m restrained to play druid, yet it is one of my favourite class!!

I want a fat Necromancer.
I don’t think biker dudes really exist anymore that was a boomer thing.
My aunt lives in Laconia they are all like 70 now lol
You are lucky to have them. Cherish them while you can. They never existed in my country. Just distant oversea creatures of myth and legend. And television.
Honestly I like the heftier druids better. And as that sweet video showed, it is important for some people on the heftier end of the spectrum to feel like their body images are represented. They have the right to immersion too.
Ideally body type customization options would be fantastic. I do not know what the data shows on what body types people pick. Look at all the characters in WoW, unless you are those little fox creatures or a gnome or a dwarf everyone is sexy. It’s important to let some people feel that you can be a little girthier and still be a human/ nephalem hero.
Lets have some compassion for folks who do not have ideal body types. For some people it’s medical and others its inescapable lifestyle choices and habits.
Although IRL I look closer to a barb now, 2 years ago I struggled with my weight as I was on psychiatric medication that caused weight gain. At that point I would have been comforted to see a Diablo hero that looked more like me…
Yes I also understand the legitimate desire of many druid fans to want to create a lean druid as well, at some point with limited engineering resources and time you need to pick your battles and balance being inclusive and appealing…

Why? Fat people dont want to be fat. This inclusivity has gotten way too far. Now many people refuse to play druid simply because it looks like a fat homeless person.
Options are fine, a very small percent of people would choose an obese character.
It is a game.

I specifically enjoyed my season 2 druid and liked that he had a bit of a belly. I have a flat stomach now because I have been doing MMA and working out like crazy for the last 3 months but at the start of season 2 I had a bit of a belly. So some fat people would like to have their toons be fat too. How can you speak on behalf of all fat people?
well i like the concept art infinitely better than what we ended up with.
a little more respectful to the d2 druid.
idk how they ended up deciding that a “fatter” druid would be better. it is not.

The D2 druid and D4 druid are in canon and all universes different. How is body type a component that is part of respect.
D4 druid pays good respect because all the popular skills are back and its a very fun class to play.
Because I have been playing games the last 25 years. My eyes are not lying. Also I have friends who are fat, I’ve read posts from fat people, explaining exactly this.
Good that you have started working out, I am sure you feel better about yourself now.
