Druid damage is based on gimmicks

I feel like the best druid builds are all based on gimmicks rather than fun archetypes. For example, using earthen bulwark as the primary dps spell, using auto-attacks to reset the cooldown constantly.

Hopefully, for season 1, blizzard reevaluates this and allows more straightforward archetypes to shine. If someone is spamming a core spell, they should do more damage than someone spamming a defensive cooldown.

It also would be nice if tooltips included bucket information. For example, if you found something that gave +17% damage to X, the tooltip could combine all current contributors to that bucket and then tell you, as a percentage, how much this will actually increase your final damage.

You do not make more damage with basic ability than a core one unless you make entire build around that.

Bulwark is just bugged and scale with level of moster but from what I see, it does bad damage if you for instance go vs Echo od Lilith with that build.

Druid has some nice builds but we need more to be viable such as companion build, lightning storm build, etc.

I know. Like the one where a legendary aspect deals lightning damage that scales logarithmically with vulnerability and critical strikes to do literally billions of damage. Meanwhile, the base abilities are doing hundreds of thousands or a couple million at most.

If a player invests in maxing out a core skill and doing their best to itemize for that skill, they should be rewarded with a more-or-less viable tool. Druids (and really all classes) currently do not have that.

Druid is the class blizzard clearly spent the most time designing end game on. Their unics and arrifact arenclearly designed to work together.

I am not sayimg thisnis the best class but the synergy are clearly there with artifacts that change the damage type of certain skills in order to create a theme that will work with the rest of the passives and paragon.

That Bulwark build is very trash, suck a boring gameplay, spam auto-attack then spam the shield look stupid.

Hey, someone that gets it! Neat!

I’m really hoping they make an aspect or legendary that allows a basic skill (or similar) to proc Lightning Storm for 3-4 seconds reliably fast or let us move around while channeling it. LS is such a fun skill but I genuinely don’t like channeling spells much in ARPGs, specifically because you can’t move. If cataclysm could scale up like LS, then I’ll take that with fixed Calm Before the Storm triggers and/or lucky hit checks or each cataclysm bolt.

I don’t see how you can say that when no one even runs companions. I wanted to play Druid for that very reason and they are the worst thing you can run as a whole as a Druid build. The only companion people use is poison creeper for debuffs. You can get away with companions until you hit World Tier 4 (where the actual game is played).
