Drop Rates on Ultra Rares

Just want to point out that Trillions of monsters have been killed and you can count with your fingers how many people have these items.

Blizzard is absolutely going to change the drop rate so do it and stop with the carrot on a stick routine.

1-800,000 Chance from UNIQUES (Don’t confuse this with 1 in 800,000 from every item) is an abomination.

Tyrael’s Might was about 1 in 500,000 drop rate and 99.99% of D2 Veterans who played for 20 Years Never had it drop.

In before the “I like it being rare they should keep it like this” - Well you are an idiot.

I agree that these uniques are stupid (over 10% of the entire pool of uniques are unattainable), but where does the 1-800k number come from? It has been referenced but I’ve never seen a source for it.

To be fair it was supposedly Data Mined and doesn’t even seem accurate. It seems less likely than 1 in 800,000 to be fair.

I doubt this, drop tables would be stored completely server side. I would suggest dropping this (no pun intended) from your argument since it gives the lottery-item-defenders ammunition.

There is no argument here? Where do you think there is an argument to be had?

It’s not really ammunition. If its a 1 in 800,000 chance on unique drop, it is effectively not in the game. You will never obtain 800,000 uniques.

What I mean is, you’re using the 1:800k as a basis for the argument in your OP. I would not present that as fact. You don’t even need to as we can see how rare they are.

What y’all think, Tyrael’s more rare or these super uniques?

To be fair, it doesn’t really matter what the actual number is. Current evidence provides that if the number of super uniques (dropped at this point) can be counted using your fingers (and maybe toes) among all of the players, then it is something absurd.

It’s not even something you can hope to achieve in a 3 month season where trade is not possible.

The problem is that they are gated behind a certain character level that takes forever to get to. Did we get confirmation on it being character level related or is it monster level related???

I am fine if they want to make the grind about getting to 100, but make the items better if literally no one has a shot in bell at getting them.

It’s like “oh nice, Tier 4 has additional chance to drop more unique items… oh wait, they don’t drop until 85 and even at that it’s worse because they almost never drop.” LOL.

The sad truth is that, we have a better chance at finding life beyond our solar system before we get these items.

Doesn’t even matter because both are a Joke. The only difference is no one cared if Tyrael’s Dropped because it was complete trash.

That’s my point, including the unproven 1-800k figure only gives ammunition to discredit the sentiment of the OP (which I agree with).

To this day it amazes me how bad such a rare item was.

Another satisfied customer!!! Seriously same…finally gave up and deleted my Druid…no way I’m getting the gear I need to enjoy WT4. Finally getting the piece you need at lvl 95 must feel terrible…sitting this game out for a while.

I think you are getting hung up on something that doesn’t matter my guy. It’s a number to bounce off the drop rate of another item proven to be just completely dumb.

It doesnt take much to see the point.

I’m not getting hung up on it, I agree with the point so it doesn’t matter to me personally. Just saying that presenting unproven stats as a basis makes it easy for people who disagree to discredit your argument based on that alone. Just trying to help.

Tyreal’s is several thousand times more common. Literally.

This worked in diablo2 because there was a chance to trade. never found one but then again found jah and sur and some other high level uniques and quite often good skill charms with tons of life.

Problem here is you dont have any kind of trading or much other items that hold value. Only rares and some uniques.

Would be great to have new innovations to trading, and no I dont ask it to be back like in D2 as people will mess again things up, but maybe through some Trader NPC.

It actually was really really good when I played. I know runewords changed the game quite a lot. Particularly, itemization. I didn’t play much at that time though. This chest, in it’s prime was amazing. Incredible stats, not to mention cannot be frozen (awesome), and monsters you kill can’t be resurrected. Tough to top it.
