Drop Rates are WAY TOO HIGH

You should not be able to get full legendary gear in one weekend, change my mind. Most people are upset that they played for THREE HOURS and don’t have a lot of legendary items.

It took about 2 hours to get to level 20, afterward I did a few dungeons and Ashava and got about 8 legendary items total in my playthrough. This disregards the fact that I would normally craft them, but this time I upgraded gear specifically for Ashava instead of crafting legendary gear. I havn’t forgotten that we still have unique items to look forward to, but I feel like people are being pathetic about the drop rate.

The RARES are the best items in the game because you can get Godly rolls and add legendary affixes. How about we make them a bit harder to get so they are more REWARDING WHEN FOUND. Lowering drop rates would be an improvement imo.

When leveling a lot of that gear will likely be vastly underpowered as time goes on. It’s recommended you put your best offensive aspect in your amulet slot to help with this.

I think most will be leveling and doing the campaign as they have to in order to get to WT3 anyway and just using the best powers they can to speed that up.

They must have buffed the drop rates with a hotfix or something.

Day 1 I found zero Leggos.

Today I now have 7 Leggos.

I think they increase in drop rate as you reach higher levels; also more difficult content, like Ashava or strongholds, are more easily conquered allowing for better loot drops, too.

I got far fewer drops across the board on gear and gems as well. I never ran out of bag space. During the open beta I was constantly low on bag space from picking up just gems and rare and legendary items.

Don’t forget we will get legendary items from the campaign too, like that bubble amulet. After 20 hours of play we will all be Gods.

That interesting if it’s not just a really bad RNG algorithm!

Also I think lots of these lower level legendaries will be obsolete as you level up so not too much of a big deal if they error on slightly more drops as you will outgrow those anyways fairly quickly.

One thing I hate is there being tons of low level legendary stuff but most people just skip right by it and never get a chance to try them out cause they out level just too damned fast.

which you will replace in a few levels. Is this guy serious?

majority of veteran diablo players agree with you

Problem is about the legendaries, they have really limited affix pool. They should add more affix into them, smart loot + limited affixes = easy reach to end game which is not good for long term playing. Also I totally agree with you, they should reduce the drop rate at least 1 in 5

I don’t think the droprates are too high. I think they should leave everything alone. When they make changes it’s typically for the worse. Case and point, the last nerfs.

Ironically, I shoulda added, I wish the goblins were dropping better loot. I got 1 blue off of 3 different ones, unless this was a glitch or momma RNG. Maybe just have them also drop an elixir every time.

After the full release, it can be late to change as much as today. Just imagine, now I have full inventory of legendaries and it feels like a rare item

He clearly grinded at 20 without taking the leveling process into consideration, the drop rate WHILE LEVELING was very low, I’m not advocating for them to double the drop rate or anything but new players should experience some interesting loot relatively early on in the game, maybe a random legendary after you kill the deranged mother that spawns a bunch of elites or something. Also loot goblins should drop better loot even at low levels, reduce their spawn rate if they really want to keep the over all drop rates as it is.

have not yet seen a single leggo in ~10x the number of hours youre presenting

good troll but a bit useless as the dev said theyre not happy with the current state heh

My advice is gonna be, every act bosses can drop random legendary ( which I don’t prefer, for casuals ) until act 3. They will replace their legendaries with rares anyway.

“New Players” don’t know what legendary items are and if they get one every 2 hours of play they won’t give af about them either. They will just be different colored rares.

Nice way of saying “new” players will be too stupid to figure out a color coded system that practically every other game uses both single player and mmo type…

The apsects on them are good to extract and bank, but the core items aren’t that special compared to yellows.

Quality base stats and bonuses are still vital to a good item.

And what about rares, are they just “different colored whites” too for new players? this is such a bad take, everyone can read what an item does.
