my average internet speed is 200mb ping with a 76mb upload why is your game stopping at 6.7mb average… you cant tell me your servers are that horrible after all the money dump we did this summer…

least steam lets me download at 800mbs on my 1000mb speeds here …

We did have a known bug that impacted download rates when set to unlimited for Diablo IV. This is currently under investigation. One way to workaround the limit is to place a high download limit:
At the top right of the Battle.net Desktop Application → Click on the Battle.net Logo → Settings → Downloads. Check Mark: Latest updates and Pre-released content set them to 999999. Done. Give it a few minutes to see if that helps.
If the issue continues, review our connection troubleshooting Here. After this we recommend leaving the download alone it should increase over time.

This was an issue with Diablo III & was never fixed. I know since I own D3 & had the very same issue the OP reported here with that game. The issue carried over into D4 & needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Not trying to sound demanding/rude by saying that since I know the D4 Team is busy…
This fix has been ongoing for quite a while now. And while that fix helps sometimes it doesn’t fix it every time. I actually gave up on using this, as it no longer mattered if I had a limit set or not. So I just leave it unlimited. It literally doesn’t matter if it has a speed limit set. It might seem to for one download instance, or for a little while, then you end up back with the same issue later or the next time there is an update.
So its a hit or miss potential work around, but ultimately not a good one. I have tested this with two different machines. Did a large update on both. One with a limit set and the other without. They both ended up taking the same amount of time to download the update, with the speeds fluctuation from near 0 to lots of MB per second constantly.
Anyway.
I still think this is tied in with whatever borks connections for some players.
