Wow, I am still zero when it comes to Ubers.

unfortunately for me, thanks to this fiasco and thanks to those $%#%$% devs, diablo 4 has become a CASINO.
Players don’t have fun anymore, they are just slaves of DURIEL, spending hours and hours getting materials to in the end get nothing and try again and again…
f- to the devs who turned the game into the mess it is now.
I think it’s still ok. It’s just RnG. You don’t need Uber to be good at this game, but of course it’s still better if you get an Uber. It sucks when you know folks get an Uber just by doing 5 runs or being able to share resources with other folks or worst came via RMT.
I would be pissed if this becomes a gauge of how good you are in game.
As a side note though I have seen streamers with Uber gear but are having hard time at tier 90s.
Yes, I got very lucky indeed, I got a Ring of Starless skies at first and I thought I won’t be getting another Uber Unique unless I did another 50 - 200 rounds of Duriel again for another Uber Unique to drop.
That is why I wrote ( OH NO ) in the game party chat to my friend in game at 0:47 in the video. I just want the Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander for my Sorcerer and not another Ring of Starless Skies.
It was very lucky of me to get another Uber Unique drop so fast in a row, and it was the the Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander drop which I wanted most.
I do genuinely wonder if they stealth buffed for the week. So many people I know that grinded for 300+ runs with no drops all finally saw drops this week.
How do you find the spear now that you have it?

I used to really want the spear but…
-Have seen people with it at World Bosses. You know, examining people to see their outfit and what they’re using while waiting for the boss to pop.
-Noticed that the effects ONLY trigger after killing an elite. So it’s USELESS in a solo boss fight. All my desire melted away.
-SERIOUSLY, why do they sometimes just HATE all of us??
Then theres me. 100 ice demon runs and no oculus and its not even an uber drop… UUUUGHHH
Yeah that Occy drop was brutal. I really think there’s time gating on bosses. I see this with that Barb unique sword. Some days it’s chest armor only, and other days it seems like sword only.
But because beast in ice is sho hard to get mats its harder to tell, but if true means if you ran on bad day, then even 50 straight runs and won’t be able to drop.
I think they nerfed the Oculus drops. I did like 40 plus runs a week or two weeks ago and didn’t find a single Oculus but early S2 release, it was just a common drop from that boss.
Someone in Blizz had probably thought it should be an Uber drop lol
It has such a stupidly low drop rate. I’ve only ever seen one and it has near minimum rolls on all the affixes. I can’t justify using it even though I really want to.
I have the ring, the spear, and selig
ring is nothing special and I don’t use it
Yah, Selig Amulet and Ring are not valuable in your sorc builds unless your primary skill is a core skill. So not useful for BL, Blizzard or firewall. If you are a core skill sorc build, enjoy your 20 minute NMD runs while the rest of us conquer them in 3 minutes or less?
For starless, its junk for sorcerer because youre always using shields or teleport… which resets the uber aspect.
When Seeing someone celebrating some jackpot at DURIEL CASINO, I realize how f’d up the game is
Its all statstics as opposed to developers trying to bamboozle you. There is 2% drop rate each time you do a duriel run. So very very low odds. The odds of you getting an uber, especially the one you want, are near impossible by design. If everyone had an uber, no one would think they are so special and covetted. They also obviously bring a strategic advantage in all parts of the game (ie: i was able to clobber some barbs last night even though MacroNinja says they werent any good).
Between me and my friends here, it took us between 300 and 600 runs to get shako on average. The strategy we used was to get a team of 4 together and we’d each get 20 runs worth over a week or week and a half. Every other thursday at 8pm we’d do 80 runs in a row over 3 hours. Over 2 or 3 months, each of us got what we wanted. Some of us were really bummed at some points after playing so long without getting Shako (and having got worthless starless + andariels visage 5+ times each) but eventually everyone got it.
Personally im not a big fan of people celebrating getting their ubers because it makes everyone else who doesnt have an uber upset. I certainly identified with this especially when i brought in a filler-4th to a rotation one time, and they got 2 ubers within the first 10 runs. I wish i could down vote the original post because the post is subtractive value to the sorc community / forum. That all aside, i understand the excitement and assume positive intent as opposed to boasting.
They’re not not even really better than the other uniques (the ones with crit vuln dmg even got a considerable nerf through the rework), just rarer for no good reason. They should just abolish the concept of “uber uniques” in its entirety. The initial target audience for them is both incredibly small and doesn’t even really care about these items in the first place.
Now I wouldn’t expect them to actually do it because for some reason they seem to be proud of this example of bad game design but the least thing they could do here is to add something like a “uber unique choice box” to the initial completion of either the season story or the last tier of the Battle Pass.

I wouldn’t be upset about people celebrating something they had to farm for months to get. If anything I have more of an issue with people saying crap like “each uber unique should only be able to drop once per account” because they hate getting them so much.
This is why i really hate rng mechanics. Its basically a slot machine for uber loot. One person can do a single run and get shako/doombringer/grandfather etc. While another person could do 400 runs and never see 1 uber. All it really does it make people not care about uber uniques anymore.
I do use selig and I love it. Saturday I got shako which is pretty useful
