why do i have to finish campaign to access seasonal content like malignant hearts?
makes no sense. i dont like to skip the campaign, i like having a general direction of what to do next in a game, i have the option to skip it, and i would prefer not to.
now my character is level 32 with never seen a malignant heart. i understand theres no changing this now, but maybe dont repeat this for season 2. just give us access to seasonal content from level 1. with campaign completed or not.

wouldnt make sense in this season, as the seasonal story clearly takes place after lilith has been defeated. maybe it works for other seasons in the future tho

it just doesnt matter if it makes sense or not though. its just annoying, i now am rushing through the campaign as fast as possible because i need to get to seasonal content, and again skipping everything humanly possible or rushing as much as possible. its annoying.
the first time it was the same thing because they also made it so to get out of WT2 you need campaign done. i dont get why thats a thing either, just let ppl do capstone at 50 and 60 independent of story progression, and do story in WT3/WT4 if we feel like it.
the first time i did the campaign i was level 50 and in act 1 still, and rushed everything because stuff stopped scaling and act 2-5 i didnt get any of the story, now i did act 1 and realized no malignant hearts and im rushing again. this is poor game design. i want the story. give me the story without the strings.
so many BS artificial walls that dont matter.

just that there isnt a wall. you could have just not played the campaign, it was your free choice. why do you play it anyway if you “just rush through it”. tbh, if i was you, id just start the char again and skip the campaign.

Dear lord, people will complain about literally anything. How about you just skip the campaign next time?
It’s not like there is a literally checklist of things telling you what to do in order to get through seasonal content… oh wait…

because if you skip the campaign the game becomes way more open world exploration game and i dont like it. i like doing the campaign, i skipped the campaign on one of my characters, i deleted the character at level 15 realizing it was a mistake. i now always do the campaign, i dont like open world aimless wondering, i like quests clearly telling me where to go.

i think it still is a mistake. there is no good reason someone going through the campaign shouldn’t be able to engage with the seasonal stuff. it feels bad for anyone who wants to replay the campaign to miss out on the new toys while doing so.
in poe you get the seasonal stuff along with the campaign and it feels really good. in poe you can’t skip the campaign either so it isn’t a perfect comparison
and thats provided by the season journey as well. its literally sends you to different places ^^

How does it make sense as a level 1 character
Your play style is an outlier. i’ve been playing hardcore and lost 6-7 "main " characters from helping other players. when i sat down and Knocked on the campaign’s story. it’s less than 4 hours stopping for every cutscene. You procrastinated.
just grind out the story rq and remember, This season is a probably corporate demanded rush job because the Digital extra launch content didn’t sell like projected.
and the seasonal items despawn at the end of it on top of that.
because obviously, another wanderer e.g. your eternal character defeated lilith, while you are just popping up into the aftermath =)
Not trying to be a jerk here, but, the season journey in itself is basically a bunch of quests telling you what to do… IE; " Collect 15 Gallowvines" or " Complete 3 Dungeons in Fractured Peaks" etc…
Not to mention, there’s a ridiculous amount of side quests that you could have completed that also tell you where to go/what to do… in doing those would also help your season journey at the same time.
My suggestion; put all your stuff in the stash, start a new character and skip the campaign.

let alone you finish the renowns pretty much on the go ^^
You have the option to skip the campaign and go into season 1. They said it was after the campaign, some people want to replay the campaign and thats cool.
It was specific written in text on the character creation screen.

I think you can convert your character to skip the campaign even if you started the campaign assuming you beat it once already

you have been the most helpful out of every single person in this thread. thank you.

So you beat the campaign once, started a season character, decided not to skip the campaign, and then proceeded to rush through and skip the entire campaign, now you are upset?
I can’t even…. If you needed the campaign to provide direction, you could have just skipped the campaign and directed your character towards the season chapters, the whisper tasks, the strongholds, etc…

that doesnt feel like direction, its just open world nonsense.
i like whispers and what not as endgame content post 60, but before, i just want a campaign, and i didnt even get to do a proper campaign the first time around because i got to level 50 while in act 1 of campaign and then had to rush through it because the world stopped scaling.
like so many catastrophically bad decisions made, the game is ok, and could be great. but seriously. why so many crap decisions.
I finished the season 1 campaign\quest in a few hours on a new class I have never played before in WT2
It is super short.
Don’t stress yourself and enjoy the campaign. U have still 88 days for this 5 hour quest.
