When Microsoft will buy them, battle.net games may be transferred to Steam. Like it was with Bethesda_net games.

People are crazy if they care so much for steam that they’d re-buy a game and nuke all progression they had on the Battle.net version.

It wouldn’t nuke their progression. You have to link your Battle.net account to the Steam version, per their article they released about it coming to Steam. The game is tied to Battle.net, so owning it on Steam is simply a license to use it on Steam and then access it through Battle.net.
I wish they would provide Steam keys to people that already own it on Battle.net, but I highly doubt it. They don’t care about earning goodwill, just more money and I bet they are hoping some Battle.net owners re-buy it on Steam.

Oh, I thought it would work like other games.
Skyforge or Vindictus would be a completely new account between steam and their own launcher.
On Oct 18 they will be bought by Microsoft. And on Oct 17 D4 releases in Steam. It can be fun.
It was 50% off 1 month after release. At this rate, it’ll be free to anyone who drops 9.99 on the first expansion, lol.

I came a long way to say that if you wait for 2 years, you will have these options to choose from:
Diablo 4 - still your reskinned Diablo 3 with the same bugs.
Diablo 4 with 1 expansion - some QoL changes and some high priority bug fixes that should have been solved before release.
Diablo 4 free to play - Free to play now, with stash tabs, many QoL features and more cosmetics for sale all on the “live service” shop that worked 100% upon release of their beta release of the reskinned diablo 3 game that carried over the same exact bugs/issues.
The choice is yours, I do hope you break free from blizzard.

Pretty much, cannot be answered in a meaningful way. Love it. 
I believe many of the folks that complain without logic behind it, just like to complain in general. It’s one thing when you have an actual problem behind it, another when you’re just a negative nancy.
