Just had someone come in, to my NORMAL DIFFICULTY game…level 284…just to one shot the world boss.
Thanks for ruining it 100%.
I hate this game.
BTW I didn’t touch a single item on the ground. If I could have I would have refused the gold, crafting materials, all of it.
Don’t come into normal just to ruin other player’s fun. Don’t be -that- guy.
ALSO I’D REFUSE THE XP, TOO, IF I FREAKING COULD! THANKS FOR RUINING MY WHOLE DAY, WHOEVER YOU WERE!

You remind me of the dude who called me a leacher for killing his butchers as I ran by in helltide.
The open world in this game is a free for all with people blasting across all difficulties.
You’re not special, don’t expect special treatment.

So you want to have a hissy fit and ignore free items out of “principle” because someone in a multiplayer game killed a boss for you?
Kudos. Best troll post all day.

You might want to stop playing this game. Once you get to higher tiers helltides, world bosses and anything else open world is just one shots galore. T12 world bosses don’t even last a second.

I dunno, I kind of want to hear from the guy that’s para 284 running around on normal. What’s he like? What’s he up to?

Probably just someone who hunts an easy Echo of Diablo, instead of doing it in tt12.
If you don’t like playing with other people in your game, you might want to look for something offline to play instead. If a single instance of someone one-shotting the WB can ruin your whole day, online games might not be the right thing for you.
It’s actually a valid criticism
lvl70 chars shouldn’t be able to go below Torment IMO

Maybe. But the petty, dramatic overreaction makes it hard to take him seriously.
And there are definitely reasons to go to a lower tier. Trading, hunting for low tier set items etc.

I had no idea people still say that.

A 284 has ZERO reason to be down on normal. They should be pushing max torment, in parties, looking to hit x300.
It’s not a troll post. I am legit upset. I came to the boss to do (shocking)…the boss.
Not stand there, and see it killed before I can even press “A.”
Zero fun mechanics. Negative fun game.

If it makes the game worse for newcomers it’s not a good move

Well hopefully it won’t become a common thing. Every game has it’s good and bad moments.
If it makes you feel any better, T12 bosses die just as fast to “that guy”. Always someone doing bazillion damage with blazing internet speeds and kills boss before my rogue gets her dagger unsheathed. If you’d like to know how to disable cross-play, I’m happy to help, but if you wanna play with others, expect there to always be at least one “That Guy”.
Yes, but I disagree that this is a problem. Sometimes a player 1 shots a world boss, other times you have to solo it. Maybe you 1 shot it, maybe you fight it for 5 minutes.
Sometimes you are the only player with real dps and the other 11 players are only adding to the world boss hp without doing any significant damage.
That’s the game. It’s open world multiplayer.
I feel zero empathy for somebody who throws a tantrum over something so innocuous.

You’re reacting to a reaction
It is. Deterring new players away is not a good move
For example D4 loses a lot of traction because the campaign cannot be replayed without a fully revealed map
I get it but it’s not valid point to neglect the experience of “point of contact” with the game
I’ll be THAT guy tbh, = endgame is overrated, there, I said it.. Endgame, and all that focus on endgame is overrated
If the game is good and well-made endgame becomes a mere afterthought/extension of the game (and tbh, it should)
D2 is the perfect example of this, all it has is torches and terror zones, that’s it, nothing special. Endgame consists of what exists already (because it largely works) with a special flavor/sauce

Picture some guy who has a trash build and is tired of struggling with T12.
He wants to feel like a god for a bit, so just for fun he drops difficulty. God forbid he kills a world boss when the wrong person is around.
Sorry, it’s dumb. The complaint may warrant some discussion, but the “boohoo I wish I could give the xp back” has killed any obligation to see it from all sides.

T12 world bosses go down instantly so i doubt that.

Okay, you’re serious, I guess.
False. Not zero.
Get over yourself.
Could have been powerleveling a friend.
Could have been farming a low tier charm set.
Could have literally just hit 70, slotted his paragons, and went Oh snap world boss time! Easy whisper real quick! 284 paragons and pre-torment gear is more than enough to obliterate a world boss on normal.
The character I’m playing now, once I hit 70, I didn’t leave pre-torment until I had all my glyphs. I absolutely would have done a world boss fight if one had come up with whispers while I was farming the pit.
They could have just been farting around in an online game.
If this one event is enough to send you crying to the forums, I suggest you uninstall the game and walk away because it will happen constantly in non-instanced content regardless of torment level.
Helltides are about to be be really disappointing.
I wouldn’t be rude about it but you’re incredulous in your expectations and vehemently wrong.

just play solo self found or turn off cross play…
If only there were all the rest of the game to play.
Truly you must live a charmed life if that’s all it takes to ruin your whole day.
