Does Rend Stack?

Still leveling and only in the 20s at the moment. But wondering if its worth doing multiple Rends on a target back to back, i.e. does the tick damage go up? Dont have any other bleeds yet so its just Rend for now.

Yes, it stacks, and can tick for gnarly damage. All bleed sources can stack into each other as 1 giant bleed.

Stacks with flay as well

The bleed from the Lunging strike node and aspects that proc bleeds as well. On boss fights I’ve gotten my bleed to tick for 20k plus. This is without edgemasters, which was a core part of my rend build.

You chose lunge over flay for why?

I chose it for mobility. At 52 in WT3, 1 rend for me is enough to eat most non-elite mobs entire health pool with bleed, so why keep bleeding a single target that’s inevitably going to die when I can rush over to the next mob to start on it.

I’m also specced so my lunge also causes bleeds too, so even if I’m rebuilding fury, once I have enough bleed damage on a single target, I can dash off to the next.

Exactly why I took Lounging Strike on my Rend Barbarian. If the target is going to die, then I can get on to other targets and come back for cash/items later.

what are your thoughts on ditching a basic altogether and going with maybe leap or groundstomp

Leap, Ground Stomp, and Killing Blow can all get you Fury, but they are cooldown gated–you might want to be able to generate Fury a bit more often than they cycle and taking up Action Bar space with any/multiple of those locks out other choices. Also, consider the basic attacks can give you useful effects. A lot is going to depend on the legendary items.

I am currently:

  • Getting Berserking from Lunging Strikes and Leap (Battle Fervor passive)
  • Getting Fury from Lunging Strikes, War Cry, and Leap
  • Applying Vulnerable by Rupture (Expose Vulnerability)

I might be able to give up the Lunging Strike, but for quick, short distance dashing around, it is pretty useful on top of it being able to initiate Berserking.

Free, spammable mobility, and it’s more fury per button press. I have other consistent ways to apply vulnerability, mainly via the paragon board glyph “exploiter.”
