Im running a lightning wolves pet build. I was wondering is rabies works. I sometimes have 7 werewolves out and was wanting to add a little somthing.
if by work you mean infecting enemies and spreading poison then yes it works, now if by work you mean that it deals any meaningful damage in an endgame build, then no.
If your running Aspect of the Alpha than you already have rabies. The aspect gives your wolves the skill. Even maxed out and built for poison damage, it does not put out any real damage at all. So there’s no reason to spend points in the skill itself, like I said you get that from the aspect.
The only reason to run any poison at all in an end-game companion build is for the Envenom passive (%(x) crit damage).
You dont need rabies active for the wolves to use rabies. they have their own proc for rabies. I have rabies on my hotbar because i am stacking crit with poison damage with companions.

As others stated, aspect of the Alpha lets your werewolves proc rabies. It doesn’t need a point investment nor does it to be on your bar.
But if you put points in it, then the proc benefits from it.
If you also use Virulent aspect then the procs will lower the Rabies cooldown.
