Does Piranhado trigger XFal's Corroded Signet's ability?

The key witchcraft power Piranhado for my new Rogue “deals 2000 Physical damage over 16.0 seconds” when activated. This sounds like a damage over time effect that deals physical damage.

The unique ring XFal’s Corroded Signet, states: “Lucky Hit: your damage over time effects have up to a 75% chance to erupt, dealing [180-260] damage of the same type to surrounding enemies”.

If I trigger a Lucky Hit, will the ring trigger Piranhado’s effect and create a 75% chance of eruption, dealing physical damage to surrounding enemies?

I don’t think it does. I had a similar question about Druids Ravens which apply physical damage periodically lets say, but yeah it is over a few seconds.

But most told me, and it makes sense I suppose, DOT is limited to: bleeding, burning, poison and shadow in this game.

IT would be nice if we knew what worked with what for most of this game but instead we dont even know if things fixed in patch notes are actually fixed.

Ok, gotcha, thanks. Trying to parse how that makes sense. I mean, I get the interpretation that only certain things are considered “Damage over Time” effects, but that’s why the term DoT uses capital letters. If the ring said “Damage over Time” effects, then I could more easily distinguish that from things that just do damage over a period of time. That’s how most games make the distinction, by using unamibiguous terminology and disambiguating edge cases. But whatever, lol, thanks.
