Does it matter which item you imprint an aspect upon?

I have an aspect that will help my Sorcerer’s cold damage. If I try to imprint it upon a ring it takes 10 veiled crystals. If I want to imprint it upon my staff it takes 20.

Does it matter? Will I get less benefit by imprinting it on the ring?

Yes. 2 handers give 100% increases and amulets give a 50% increase.
You can put different items into the UI with the same affix chosen and see the item it’ll create.

Imprinting on an amulet gives the aspect an extra 50% power. So, if it says like ‘skills do 30% extra damage’, it would actually be 45%. On a 2 handed weapon, the aspect’s power gets doubled. But I suggest you don’t bother putting it on a 2 handed weapon unless it’s a very, very good item. At least something that can take you to World Tier 3.

Awesome, thanks both of you.

Just to help me understand, how do guys know these percentages? Are they in a tutorial or a guide somewhere? Sorry if that’s a dumb question

Read about them in a game guide. I haven’t seen a tooltip in game for it. here’s the rundown.

2H Weapon - 100% Aspect bonus increase
1H Weapon - 50% Aspect bonus Increase
Amulet - 50% Bonus increase
Anything else, is what it is.

I should also mention, at lower levels, don’t waste the money and mats imprinting weapons. You’ll change them too often and run out of gold and mats. Just do the Amulet and maybe a piece of armor or two. At level 52 doing this, I’m at 2 mil gold and a ton of aspects sitting in my inventory.

Yeah this system was a peculiar change, I like it, but I also just had to sit down at the dude and start throwing some spare legendaries at him to test the waters. I still think I’d prefer more unique items to just making legends stronger versions of yellow items. (in some cases)
