Does blizzard even play d4?

D4 season 6

Its more or less the same game as before with more steps added. while making the end game loop even more tedious.
Part of this is my fault for playing spirit born first. since every other class just feels so terrible in comparison. Part of it is also on the Blizz team and lack of testing.

Seasons are fairly weak and only 2 and 5 will have any fond memories since they stuck out and changed how we played quite a bit. Even season 4 while lacking a big season mechanic still made it fun \ worth the time to roll alts.

Yet the combat and look \ feel of the game is still the best in the business. Maybe this is why people get so angry!? D4 has the best combat, animations and game engine(until you guys bricked pc at least). Just that’s where it ends!

VOH just doesn’t bring enough changes from previous season to really feel like that much of a change and the supporting systems are weaker than Season 2,4,5

Why can’t D4 season have more identity? Get who ever made the last several d3 seasons to work on d4? Its obvious blizzard doesn’t care about Eternal anyway.

The biggest wins have been from what was brought over from D3.

Hell even the D3 seasons for the last few years had way more identity and brought more to the table.

From season 16 - 29 most of them were bangers and all of them had their own identity. I think this gave high hopes of seeing what you guys could come up with for d4.

Where did this teams creativity go!? Diablo Immoral? Still one of my favorite events ever was the darkening of tristram. It was such a fun little event!

Yes, you answered your own question.

Diablo 4 started losing its identity in Season 1 when they decided to nerf vulnerable and critical damage. Over time, gear ended up only rolling one of these stats unless you used tempering. They also introduced key passives and builds that fall into four categories: vulnerable, critical damage, overpower, and damage over time. If they had implemented these changes in Season 1 with more foresight, there probably would have been less backlash.

This is just one example, but the dev team often seems to apply Band-Aid fixes to major issues without fully thinking them through. By the time they address the core problem, the damage is done, and players have already moved on.

NetEase made Diablo Immortal, who are known for making quality F2P games that have a hundred different currencies all to trick the player into buying them. This isn’t surprising considering the CEO of the company back then and their leap into the mobile market.

Oh sure they had F2P games with Hearthstone and HotS (eventually OW2), but those were all made in house with MTX being the main focus for revenue. They had to go to the experts to get DI.

Do you mean, 'Do employess of Blizzard even play d4"? I’m pretty sure a company can’t play a game unless its some very fancy AI that calls itself a company.

I think AI would do a better job at this point!

I was still pondering this line.

Right the last several season from d3 were all pretty good, Added new things a clear way of how it was changing things slightly but, we only really saw that with season 2 sadly.

Again, type “diablo 4 adventure with the devs” on youtube, im sure you will get answers for most questions :sunglasses:

I believe they don’t play, apart from the testers. Maybe someone plays in pit 15 or from 1 to 60. There’s no way the Maximum Resolve can go from 2 to 13. It’s surreal for that to happen. And other skills go from 2 to 8.

VoH has brought us some good things but runes should have been in base game. IT was an obvious move to sell expansion. SB was released in abysmal broken OP state with double triple and such dipping (hire some testers you made 1B on this game). So bad its not even out of the realm of possibility it was done on purpose to sell expansion. We still have a dupe exploit going on and trade was never taken down. Still no armory. Economy rekt. Cant trust trades. PPL exploiting tempers to 18 resolve stacks with no punishment. PvP complete joke with invincible unstoppable SB evaders auto crit sniping everything. Any hero other than SB is weak compared to SB. Still have tons of ppl crashing. Still cant get party system to work since Season 0. Limit to 5 boards is admitting you dont know how to balance paragon. And on and on it goes. POE2 is going to destroy this game the way D4 is going and what a shame because it had such promise but D4 devs played it safe and have no vision or direction.

Season 6 overall has been a disaster but they dont see it that way because 90% of the base bought VoH so from a bean counter perspective everything is fine.

People wanted a nostalgic homage to diablo 2. The Developers introduced runes and mercs and and a new act with its own campaign just like the Diablo 2 expansion and then people complain. People get what they ask for and they are never satisfied. Seriously…

Runes should have been in the base game. It was a money grab to make them part of expansion.

Mercs being in expansion is ok.

New zone looks great. Its my fav helltide area.

New campaign was awful. No choices or player interaction. Not a Neyrelle fan. Get better writers.

The level of censorship in this forum is unreal. I previously said this game is almost like playing a game generated by AI, implicating how incomplete this game is. It was flagged as trolling and inflammatory.

Careful of what you say.
These people will see or hear what they only want to.

No, they don’t. If customers are already disgusted while playing their game, I believe the studio staff must also feel the same just by looking at it.

They’re making this game for the sake of their salaries (especially in this era of layoffs), not out of passion.

I think they do but based from what I have observed, they are probably not as hardcore as other players. I think they are in the casual category.

My 18 resolve meta stack meta needs a banwave post was taken down because get this they said its spam and advertisement. Like what? Mention POE once and its ad???

Of course they don’t play their own game wym

They play test the game at casual level, never grind like most of the players. As they know the end game design is to drag player’s time as long as possible. So they don’t bother to test that part

I believe some of the the devs are busy playing new games from other studios in their office, with the pretext of getting new idea :grimacing:

Even a casual play test to lvl 60 and clicking the nodes would have found more than half the bugs, so it cant even be explained away by just being Casual play testing.

Casual play testing also would have shown the huge disparity, lack of resources. Its not like we had to do mythical things to find an exploit.

I think this is like any big corporation. The developers work hard to make the game great, then a manager steps in with last-minute changes. If you’re familiar with coding, you know it’s rarely as simple as changing one line—one change can easily mess things up elsewhere. The game seems to be all about immediate profit now. They didn’t even allow a two-week gap for the expansion for players to experience the campaign before Season 6 started. I guess they sort of did, but only streamers got a 10-day head start to play the story and post game guides and builds before the season.
