Does anyone miss Blizzard North?

They will be what they want, but I assure you that Diablo 4 would not be like that with them, don’t you see that season 8 is the same as every season? Outside of the theme there is nothing but pit again, 3 uber bosses that they don’t even know where they came from, anyway it makes me very sad to see how Diablo 4 is becoming a game without principles, without criteria, without demons, without end game, without crafting, without pvp and without seasons, because what they do is not worthy of calling it a season, I don’t know who is in charge but it is clear that they have no leadership or creativity

Microsoft is in charge and they seem completely fine with Bliz running D4 into the ground slowly for $.

As much as i like blizzard north i don’t remember diablo 2 having end game.
Cow level and baal runs aren’t end game actually.

D2 end game was about finding loot and pvp and yes grinding cows.

You aren’t wrong, it didn’t have anything structured specifically to do other than repeat what you were doing the entire time. Every Diablo-like game is this way. D2 may have had less things of which to do than say D4, but ultimately we’re all still running on that treadmill until we get bored.

And what D4 has been doing is better how?:person_facepalming: At least D2 wasn’t organized to sell Ugly Overpriced Cosmetics! The itemization was much different too!
One of my and a friends favorite examples {Oh and bother telling me that aspects are the better way to go}:person_facepalming:
D2’s

    Piercing Attack (100)
    Freezes Target +3
    +75-150 Defense

D4’s

Buriza-Do Kyanon

  • [442 - 662] Damage per Hit

  • 0.90 Attacks per Second (Slow)

  • +114.8% Vulnerable Damage

Requires Level 73

Rogue

D4 Unlocks new look on salvage

And BTW to all of those Trolls who’ve been making excuses for the crashing games saying look at you’re ISP before blaming Buzzard, Think again because Buzzards been cheaping out on buying server space for decades, Not a problem for any THINKING Person as long as Buzzard isn’t shorting people on what they’ve paid for except Buzzards been doing that as well! Just think about all the Que’s when there’s something going on and then think again about the server shortage🤦

Diablo 4 is more like MS Excel than Diablo 1&2 :hamster:

I’m not telling that diablo 4 is better game. I’m just stating the obvious. Diablo 2 is still my favourite ARPG and always will ahave a place in my heart. Same goes for starcraft, warcraft 3, fallout 2, heroes 3 and ultima online. But OK i was not right. Diablo 2 had actually one end game activity. Killing uber diablo. All other activities are doing same things.

If you take off the nostalgia glasses you’d realize it was the same dumpster, but in a time with less video game blogging drama: 2nd expansion was cancelled and the vanilla game was not finished either: act4 was 6 quests long originally but they forced them to cut it out to release it earlier.

And i think it’s good decision. Diablo 2 completed the story of Diablo 1.

the next “the grass is greener on the other side” thread…

of course, the fact that d2 was anything but finished when it came onto the market and took years to become what it was is once again completely ignored…

not even the biggest fanboy in the world would seriously play a 1.0 release of d2 today…

the usual misrepresentation of the past.

Nope - i dont miss them. its been pretty long since they existed.

Do you miss… errr… the teletubbies?

really, by now ever single person should have understood that blizzard is a different company by now, with its advantages, and disadvantages.

how come you didnt say something like

during d3 times?

what would you call a season honestly, especially while you have blizzard north in mind?
let me guess, a thread full of empty words?

I’m just telling you that after 24 years, D2 is more alive than ever, the PVP keeps it alive, something that D4 doesn’t, and Diablo 2 will be remembered by everyone and marked many childhoods. I bet you anything that in 20 years you won’t hear anyone say, “Do you remember how good Diablo 4 was?” hahaha, that will never happen because Diablo 4 is a bad game… the end.I wanted to click on Nyrue but I got confused sorry

It always cracks me up when D2 fanatics rave about D2 endgame. It didnt really have any endgame unless you count replaying campaign a third time on hardest mode or 1000s of baal kills for a rare drop as endgame. Scr#w that.

“BUT PVP”

I dont PvP and neither does the majority of arpg players. People who REALLY pvp arent playing a game where gear matters more than player skill.

Pro-Tip: When you sell your company to the highest bidder often times your best interest is not their top concern.

D2 did have end game, boss farming, trading, leveling up many folks didn’t care to reach 99 some did, pvp, ubers, and cows.

End game is what you make of it. Just like Diablo 4 its what you want to reach what is your goals and once they are met you are pretty much content. D4 seasons, i’d reach a point where I feel like im done with it, which is usually not short after the battle pass is completed. Don’t care to strive higher torments or push insane pits. Whose gonna see my achievements?

MS doesnt care about Diablo in particular, they integrated whole 20 franchises of King/Acti/Blizz into “Xbox content and services” division and dont care about it much.
After all Candy crush, Call of Duty is much higher in revenue then some small Diablo franchise. Im pretty sure they left them with thier creativity, as long as they are in black numbers, they dont intervene.
We will no longer receive detailed info about certain IPs in Blizzard since MS is not Activision and their annual reports are only solid way to gain that info.
We can ofc relly on tweets or other social platforms like LinkedIn where sometimes by accident or on purpose share some info about financial situation, but it’s getting very rare these days.
We have like zero info on VoH fe.
Since 2022/23 informations are scarce, activisionblizzard*com is no longer maintained :frowning:
