I know its probably just me, and the season content does provide a relief from doing the campaign when you need a break.
This time around for me its probably the 5th or 6th time im restarting it. From all that experience, this time around:
- I completely don’t care what happens to the character at the end of it i don’t care if my gear is too low for my level.
- Ended up choosing wt1… the xp rate… low… levelling is noticeably a much better experience than wt2 or above. Im actually content and satisfied with the wt1 xp rate.
- The main season gameplay is so easy and requires you to be there for extended hours it makes you sick. The presence of the campaign restores d4 to regular 2024 gaming, zero difficulty and just progressing the story. Its profound how you go from zero purpose in the season to be very provided in purpose again. It makes d4 plain not crap.
Lastly… i just wanted to say how much i appreciate the campaign finally. The actual plot writing is terrible. Its basic, dumb, linear and just nothing. However… the presentation is so expensive its compelling… and (apart from the very few instances where out of nowhere DEI is inserted then immediately goes away just to be DEI points…) everything in the game takes itself seriously. This counts for so much and with the presentation makes the campaign something really special in 5th review. (also why the careless dei is so damaging).
