Does a pit tier become more difficult?

I’ve been running a specific tier because I can finish it in just a couple of minutes. So within 30 minutes I can masterwork a piece of gear entirely at whatever level.
BUT I’ve noticed that if I stay on a specific tier that I can run quickly I eventually get a boss I’ve beatin’ down before in like 6 seconds previously will suddenly one hit me with a strike I’ve survived before. I’m just grinding. Why are you punishing me!? lol

You arent being punished. You just lost because you got killed.

Seems you’re playing as one should. Find a comfortable tier and just seed-run it. Anything higher is just to test yourself but is generally considered sub-optimal for gathering materials.

Though the best place for materials is in the Hoards, tier 7. You should be able to walk away with 10x materials you would normally get doing a Pit Tier in roughly 15 minutes.

That’s what I was thinking too! It was all going really well!
Whew… I need to try and run T7. I need to stop being afraid to die. Old Diablo fears. bahahaha crazy how long that sticks with you.
… ALSO!!! HEY!!! I was able to reply!!!

Yes and no, the illusion of "massive scaling " per pit level, is the bosses, 99% of them have absolutely crazy amount of health, making it seem like " omg " the difficulty per level is craaazy , look for scourge boss " fish for him " and you will see how EASY a pit is

it could be previously your additional DR were up thats why can took that hit. this round it hit in the down time window.

DR? I’ve been running this tier no problem… I’m getting one hit now. I’m so frustrated now… I’m dropping a tier to see if I can start winning again.

damage reduction. some are consistently up, while some may need conditional triggering and have effective window.

All I know is that I’ve been running Tier 79 over and over all day masterworking my gear. lol because I have been able to reliably complete it in like minutes…
Good choice or not…
but in the last 2 hours I can’t beat a boss at the end no matter what.
I just reduced to tier 77 just now… I died 2 times before I beat them and 3rd time just after I killed them. I’ve not changed gear except to masterwork what I have. Not sure what is going on.

are you able to do infernal hordes tier 7? is more rewarding for masterworking mats.

I agree. I need to try. This Pit stuff makes me afraid to try tho! lol

When I first tried Hoards tier 6 I died right on the first elite spawns… okay… So I then stopped attacking everything and just rand in a circle around the outside of the arena running down the clock for each wave. haha. Worked got the the Bosses and got them. I didn’t get much rewards but finished the Seasonal Tier I was missing.

Since then, though, I can do tier 6 but not playing a meta build I just couldn’t do T7. Which is fine.

I just easily complete tier 84 pit… but tier 79 kicked my butt over an over! lol make it make sense.
*editing this post because I can’t reply to anyone after posting this reply…

At this point I feel like I’m just whining and am missing some math somewhere…lol idk that was frustrating. Like Right now I feel like if went back and tried to do a 79 again I’d lose again. ha ha I’m going to be haunted.

Some bosses hit harder in Pit or have more HP.

Same bosses I’ve beat multiple times at the same pit tier? It’s like they got harder after running the same tier so many times.

Same boss, same tier should feel the same. Maybe there’s a bug we don’t know or maybe you lost a buff?

Very possibly I lost a buff and didn’t notice. I’m not a genius by any means. I would argue I didn’t, I didn’t change any gear except to master work it, and I was using the same incense and elixir every time. Not sure what I could have lost.
Perhaps it is the um… “old fashion” irl buff? lol They’re tastee

I’ve seen some posts on here like this before, so I don’t think you are alone. I use a level II health elixir to raise my health if this happens to me, as it seems to limit the one shots. It’s usually enough of a bump.

If you haven’t done it already, You can look at each piece of your gear to see if something accidentally got switched out while master working. If I remember right, dying will take your incense away, but you can make sure your consumables are active.

Having said all that, I totally agree with the people suggesting you try the infernal hordes. You can spend the aether you get on the materials chest. You will feel like you hit the jackpot compared with a pit run (or 6).
If you are that frustrated by dying, start at hordes level 4 or 5, blow them away to gain some confidence, then move up one level at a time to whatever you are comfortable with. Most ppl here say 7 is optimal for masterworking mats.

All the bosses have some attacks you need to avoid and now there are debuffs if you get hit by them, it looks like a red demon skull on your buff bar, with a number. If that number is more than 2 or 3 that is not good as you are taking a lot more damage.

Just go IH T7 or 8 mate, like really

There is absolutely no point doing pits atm, if you can do IH just do IH…pit rewards are crap and pit bosses over 120/130 take way too much time to kill for the crap rewards they give
