Okay, it’s one thing for spiders to lay out webs all over the room, but it’s another issue when they chase you and lay them right under your feet as you run away. There is entirely too much CC in this game. It needs to be toned down. Whoever designed all the mob CC in this game is a sadist.
Well for example a rogue has shadowstep and… one of the ultimates. Thats it.
So no, rogues have no unstoppable.
And the huge packs of mobs that appear out of thin air and surround you? Those need to stop as well.
Now that I read the post… Yeah. Game is imba, not just CC but almost everything.
I really want to see a patch note soon that literally says, “Huge packs of mobs will no longer appear around you from thin air.”
I don’t know why I seem to be the only one not having this issue. I play sorc, and have teleport to get out of CC. No unstoppable. I just avoid the ice crap. The only annoyances are the green ray stuns, whatever those are. Too fast to avoid most the time. But besides that, I never get stun locked. I don’t do garbage dungeons tho. Maybe that’s it.
Sounds like the right kind of person for this purpose lol.
And yes, i bring anti CC skills with me. Getting chained CC = start again from lvl 1 for me.
In other news, it’s really great when there’s an artillery shrine parked right outside the end of dungeon boss room. We need more of that.
We also have anti cc pots. People gunna complain cause reasons
Oh anti cc pots, I guess that justifies the insane amount of crowd control being used
More of that buoms diversity eh?
i keep 2 of those pots on me, but had never used any yet. making good situational decisions on whether to wait through a CC or pop an anti CC skill during a fight with elites is sufficient … so far.
You don’t run Concealment? I just got done slaughtering the Spider Queen in the Blistering Barrens and that’s the only unstoppable source I run. I definitely got stuck in web a couple times, but no death.
Concealment says hi. The affix that triggers unstoppable if you become injured while CC’d also says hi. That said, CC against players does need some tuning. A good start with be a diminishing returns model similar to how CC works for PvP in World of Warcraft where each successive CC received within X period of time is halved, but only to a specified minimum and never below that. That way it can’t perma CC you forever (in theory), but is still quite dangerous if you aren’t prepared for it.
“oh you thought you could pick up that bloodstone?? Hah, take a mob of enemies from nowhere”
You think you want it but you don’t
I’m not having any issue with it with my ww barb but I could definitely see it being an issue with a different character or build.
It wouldn’t be so bad if there was some kind of warm-up animation to let you know it’s happening, but almost all of the time that doesn’t happen. They’re not there, then they are.
It’s BS.
CC is the most irritating part of the game for me. When you’re fighting 3-6 elites at a time, and each one can freeze you or stun you, it’s far too easy to just be chain CC’d in place 3, 4, 5 times if you survive that long. Not to mention the eyes in Hawezar that just add to the mix.
There needs to be some type of internal CC immunity that kicks in to prevent the chain CC’s. Requiring every build to have Unstoppable available at any time isn’t fun.
I hate how enemies spawn. One could make an argument for ghosts, but every enemy in a dungeon should slready exist in the dungeon, save for a cursed shrine or chest. Ambushes should happen as a dynamic feature of the map tile, ie a hidden room or enemies in adjoining rooms are alerted.
Am i splitting hairs and it all really amounts to the same thing, or is that type of stuff the difference between an immersive, quality experience? I say details matter and this is a small chunk of what this game is missing.
Unless you have a legendary aspect that gives you unstoppable (with a large cooldown time no less - 20 to 40 seconds depending on the roll) a necro has no way to get out of a CC. It is a huge problem when mobs just CC you like crazy in this game. Thankfully I have not died a lot so far because I am well built with good gear. However, I’m only 65, I see horror stories of CC death at higher levels from most classes that do not have skills which provide a form of unstoppable.
