Last season it was it was fine that I was not very good at T4 bosses because I was good at farming mats so could supply them and at least I had some value to a party.
But this season it’s a lot more difficult to find a party for bosses; They don’t need my mats and fewer people seem to be playing, so I have taken to running T3 bosses solo.
But the T3 bosses never seem to drop mythics. I mean not ever. I must have spent over 1200 mats on various bosses and I have not seen so much as a Melted Heart of Salvage.
the drop rate is terrible this season. Mythics and legendary runes.
But the work around for mythics is to farm sparks - but you are in for a rude awakening gambling with RNG on the mythic you want. I don’t know how many people are gonna go out there way to do all the farming just for a gamble with RNG for the mythic you actually want.
Legendary rune drop rate absolutely sucks this season. And it is not fun. they might as well take out crafting mythic out of the game. Czu only ppl crafting mythics probably RMT or played trade simulator
A thing id agree with you on is that i dont like the rune gambling system really. I honestly whish there was a rune hierarchy like in d2, so you could upgrade lesser runes to the next higher ranked rune peu a peu.
god in d2 i had alts that really just dealt with runes. I was crazy about keeping track even of low runes lol, and once a month id go on a upgrade spree
you have exactly this in D4 though… it is called rune crafting.
I don’t mind this , but there has to be enough rune supply in the drop pool to make this worth it. Currently legendary rune simply have a drop rate of what… 0.00002% across all torment levels…
even if you get a legendary run to drop, you need 3 more of the same type to craft it to something else.
3 runes of the same type give you a rune of the same rarity, a random one.
in d2 there was a literal rune ladder, increasing in rarity. 3 runes of a lesser rarity would give you a rune of the next higher rarity. No random outcome there.
I forgot the exact hierarchy, but basically if we apply it to d4 runes, itd mean that 3 Tzic runes would always create 1… idk… lets say Bac rune.
oh give me this … I don’t like RNG at all. The reason why i hate crafting mythics at the blacksmith is because it is random. I like the deterministic way to get something, even if i have to farm for it.
But there is too far of these in D4 , most stuff are RNG gate kept one way or another.
Me too, but I am NOT so “fine” with the current drop rate on some things while the RNG is still staying the same.
There has to be a balance. Sure you can say S7 blizzard was too generous , but at least it was fun and not so frustrating and rage inducing. But S8 is a swing too much to the opposite direction. That is why player count is dropping quickly, is not because people are “Done” with the season. Is because ppl are fed up and quit playing.
I dont have fun at all if arpgs are too generous lol. Like, im not joking, the season was over after 4-5 days. Add a few more days to help some clanmates, thats it.
as for playercount, we really cant judge that. Steam looks like a normal decline of players for arpgs really. but in the end, these numbers tell us nothing either.
I also hate gambling, but there’s a good way to do it, at least there was in season 7, when drops were more generous. I always keep 2 sparks in reserve, for when I do amass the runes for the mythic I want. When I get a 3rd, I craft a random mythic, which in the worst case scenario will put me back at 2 sparks. This season, my first random mythic WAS the oneI wanted and I was done luckily.
I am making progress on legendary runes via gambling, but at the rate I am going I might be able to craft 1 of the mythics that I want for a build and for sure little to no chance at crafting a shroud of false death where I have managed a single BAC rune since the start of the season.
i mean they arent really rare now either. I mean, so far i only sold runes, and dont buy them you know (i really dont like the trading simulator, im happy to get some extra gold early in the seasons and thats about it lol). Sometimes we get to mix up bad luck streaks with “blizzard changed the drop rates!!!”
