If this game had launched as an expansion with different graphics for D3 everyone would have agreed that it is one.
Most of the skills are copy paste from previous games or WoW.
The story wastes the 2 arguably most important characters in Sanctuary lore, impact wise, whilst doing literally nothing with them of importance.
Sorry, THREE charaters, forgot how Rathma died for absolutely no useful reason.
The classes are insipid
The graphics are lower quality and ambiance than D2:R
Performance is 56k modem quality
Gameplay is D3 with many features removed (only lately added)
So what in the unholy f is there “4” about this Diablo, other than the number?
Christ, Diablo Immortal has more features and content than this game.

Would it honestly change how you feel about the game personally if other people just wanted to keep calling it D4 over whatever name you would prefer? Just curious is all, I have nothing wrong with your assessment about the game, just going off of your title.
Maybe D3 reborn is a good name.
I have to agree they missed the mark on D4 - trying as much as I can to enjoy it but the Expansion literally did Nothing to the Story line for the base game. It had so much potential, looked like it might be about to happen and then went FUll Left Field with all the Akarat stuff, they could have done Mephisto, when I stepped into the Durance I was almost giddy and then - some DOg thing that failed miserably. I dont know if its even salvagable now - we wont see Diablo for another 2-3 years - most people will go away not wanting to wait for a game TITLE BOSS to appear !!!

tbh i couldn’t care less about diablo, the prime evils were never interesting characters and never had character development, they’re literally just “big bads”
i would’ve hoped Inarius, Lilith and Rathma + new interesting characters (not MAGPIE MAGPIE MAGPIE nonsense) would’ve taken the lead in the story alas
Idk to call it reborn it would imply actual improvements. This is like taking a giant leap backwards.

Let’s be honest a while, we all had a long burst period playing D4 at first seasons. Most of us have been into burn-out since they have played too much without interrupt. So we cannot say it’s a bad game. It could be much better though, everybody is agree with that I think. Me, what I’m afraid now, it’s its critical bugs, that can crash and reboot my PC, even can damage my dear lovely (and expensive) rig. That’s my concern for now, more than the game content.
I pretend alot when i play 4, so i can enjoy it like i imagine it should be.

It’s nowhere near as good as D3. I’ve gone back to D3 myself, it’s streets ahead of whatever this is.
What is all this hate? If the state of the game was any better there would be no reason to even play anything else. Have you tried helltide yet?
Until, when (maybe if?) Captain Malignant Tunnel decides to put Diablo in the game, this game should be probably be called Lilith 1.
