Do not play Hardcore

I have now lost my second hardcore character due to the game freezing. This is the most frustrating thing of all… I dont know if I will ever play this game ever again.

Ok bye

A lot of people not suited for the HC life.

I feel for you. The game is still pretty wonky and unstable, so I’m not even trying to play HC anymore to avoid burning out. Crashes, “out of memory” issues (never had this before even with much more demanding titles), random server lag, rubberbanding, dying after DCing without mobs around… it’s just too much for HC.
I’m annoyed enough with losing nightmare dungeons and having to remake sigils after a simple disconnect/crash.

Let’s see how it is after the first regular patch that’s supposed to come out within a month.

Hc in D4 is waaay different than HC in D2/D3… the amount of content they’re expecting you to redo is absurd…
HC players just wanna get back to grinding lvls and building a char, not refarming the same side quests to complete renown tiers they’ve already spent days farming.

Ok bye than you clearly shouldn’t be playing hardcore.kid.not for you

Guys… D4 HC is very obviously not the normal HC experience right now. Give the guy a break. He’s right, and we shouldn’t be saying “good get out.” Because what the heck can anyone learn from a disconnect death when your character should have clearly survived with the amount of life and bubbles/barriers/saves some of us have. You can’t learn anything from a blizz dc bomb other than not playing hardcore until blizzard fixes their game, and the “good get out” comments just let blizzard slack off and continue this chit parade without catching any heat for the blame of a death.

HC has always been about getting caught off guard, making a mistake, and being able to learn from it for the next HC toon.

Did you guys read the thread yesterday about the guy dying on his horse with flame shield enchantment not triggering? That’s not HC, blizz needs to get out of here with that trash half beta game crap.

what world do you guys live in?

Battling freezes, drops, lag, bugs, pks, dirty tps has always been part of the game. Ive been playing HC since D2 Vanilla across mulitple AARPGS, and thats just how it goes.

100% this is the first time HC hasnt been enjoyable when making a new char. Sad thing too is only 1 of my HC deaths was legit, the others were due to the game freezing. Sucks having to regrind everything. I just wanna jump back in to action and do the content i enjoy, not refarm pointless crap that was fine to do just once(side quests get boring and statues are just super tediously) i dont mind doing the strong holds again(although I’d prefer not to) and rediscovering the map is ridiculous with how big it is. Idc if i had to get the way points again, thats easy enough, but removing the entire fog of war is just crap.

2 is just a number. If want to compete, I have already more than 10 hardcore characters died, and lost count. Died due to all different reasons, and disconnections are among them (when playing at my in-laws place over the weekend).

Strangely, I am still enjoying every restarts (haven’t clear the story campaign yet). Each restart are slightly different for me even though I am following a single build.

Not to encourage but just to share my own strange and enjoyable experience with playing in hardcore.

How many hours played when you died and character got sent to the fallen heroes area?

i lot of people play hc, town are full of peoples !
But i confirm i get sometime freeze where it give me anxious !
But it rare ! but enough for worry !

Most of death are just because people dont play with secure build.

Suck it up i lost a level 60 from server dc first week, lost a 72 because my kitty was messing with the cords to the router, internet blip killed a 40 but who cares, and had a close call with my 73 sorc last night.

When you die you just go again. Thicken your skin and steel yourself. Its part of the game.

For those telling the OP to suck it up…

If you’re dying outside the actual risks of the game world, that’s just poor design…plain and simple. The most difficult boss in the game shouldn’t be trying to survive a disconnect, and it’s silly to say that’s just Hardcore.

I say that as someone playing Hardcore, as the risks associated in-game make it exciting, over Softcore.

That said, the devs are apparently working on it… I hear that disconnects are going to automatically pop a scroll of escape, which I thought was already implemented because two of my previous disconnects auto-ported me to town. …it doesn’t actually seem to be though, as two new disconnects left me right where I was, but the mobs didn’t continue to attack?

I don’t know what they’re doing right now…but they’re doing something, because things are very unpredictable. Thankfully, the last four times I’ve disconnected have worked out for me…either by porting me home instantly or the mobs simply chilling as they waited for me to come back.

it work but depending of type of dc.
Serveur crash on client will work fine, but if the issue is from your side, it will not.

Test by disconnect your rooter and no scroll used.
Wait a server crash, and you will start in city.

In some cases, it’s difficult to tell if a death is PEBKAC, game related issues or someones attempt to hack the game. So rather than blizz staff being overwhelmed with a deluge of support requests to restore characters or trying to detect non-player-related deaths, they leave it as it is.

I’m not saying suck it up, but truely the first few weeks of a new games release is the absolute worst time to play HC. You’re really taking a chance with stability. I’m willing to bet they’ll get it mostly sorted out by S1. A majority of the people who’ve made it to 100 have done so out of pure luck at this point.

It is easy to solve the issues, just allow for offline modes. I don’t understand why rpg have to be connecting to servers and the servers are Xit. The lag latency is literally a killer. I have lost 3rd characters at 65 due to this issues

offline mode.

The main reason this doesn’t exist is monetization. Secondarily game hacking. Lastly the social aspect. I know it’s not an issue for a lot of people, but apparently they feel strongly about it to force it. We’ll likely never see another offline game from Blizzard and most big devs due to the first issue.

Delusional clown post, verified.

While it is plausible as an excuse. Blizzard as a massive company has no reasons and excuses to have such bad servers.

So, either be spending a good amount to hire good technical teams and backup servers, or! Offline modes

Haha same! my 2nd hc char died to the freeze today. Imagine getting 70+ dollar stolen just to get ur time wasted by this xD.

Im officially taking a break until season 1, or they announce an update / fix to this. Softcore just doesn’t hit the same for me.
