Anyone still early in the game, DO NOT DO SIDE QUESTS OR DUNGEONS. Scaling stops at 50 and if you do the side content in the game you’ll reach 50 in act 2 and the game will stop scaling, you get no more upgrades, and monsters become total pushovers. All difficulty is lost. I just hit 51 and realized this, still in act 2, and now I’m forced to play the rest of the game on total ezmode snoozefest because nothing is threatening.
This is absolute crap, and has honestly completely ruined the entire game for me. Why am i being punished for exploring the world, doing side quests and dungeons? Absolutely baffling. Weirdest design decision i’ve ever encountered in any game, ever.
This needs to be changed ASAP. Why would you add all these side quests and dungeons, cellars, events, only to be completely ignored lest you outlevel all of it before you’re even halfway through the campaign? It doesn’t make sense at all, why is it like this? Why? My game experience has just been completely ruined before I’ve even got out of scosglen. What the hell is this crap?

If you complete the campaign and change over to world tier 3 & 4 then the mobs will increase in level. Think of World tiers like Nightmare/Hell in D2 or more like the torment scaling system D3.

Just finish the main story and go to the next difficulty. Then scaling starts all over. The main story really doesn’t take that long
You posted this with so much confidence.

That’s true even after 50 sadly. Most of my slots are filled with items I got 10 levels ago… terrible system.

Why wouldn’t you do the campaign first, then the side quests?
You complainers are all the same - nothing is your fault.

YEA, finish the story out and then do side quests. honestly the best is to just do the story from start to finish then go back and do side quests.

I’ve actually been doing all the side stuff in addition to the main stuff pretty much on the basis of how close I am to a given task. If I hit 50 well ahead of the campaign I’ll just ratchet up to WT2 and focus down the rest of the campaign in ezmode I guess.
Because I kind of like doing the extra stuff. I realize I could just come back later but when the dungeon entrance is right there it’s just too sweet a plum.

My “fault”? What the hell? How was I supposed to know doing the content put in front of me during the campaign meant I would outlevel it before I was halfway done? That once I reached level 50 all monsters would stop scaling and the content would lose all difficulty?
The rest of the campaign now is going to be a total snoozefest because I chose to do side quests in an open world game.
How are people actually defending this? What the hell?
What kind of a design decision is it that 90% of the content should be skipped and you should zoom through the campaign? I dont have an issue with that being an option, but punishing completionists like me who liek to do all side quests events and dungeons is just baffling

What is his fault? He just explored and played the game, literally. How could he knows that playing the game was going to punish him?

I can see why you’re upset, but I did the same, completed most side quests while doing the story and finished around level 54.
But that’s kinda how rpg games work. I remember grinding through tons caterpees and metapods in the tall grass for hours in pokemon original blue just to make sure the first gym leader was a for sure win.
The game tells you that you need to beat the campaign to get to WT3 at level 50. It’s your fault for not reading when they have you click the statue at the start of the game.
But go on with your “WAAAAAAAAH BLIZZARD” act.
Why are you so hostile? What did I do to you? Jesus christ
I read that, I didn’t realize that meant the world would completely stop scaling, I would stop getting upgrades, and all monsters would stop scaling with my level thus making everything require zero effort anymore.
I think they should just allow WT3 to unlock once hitting level 50, that’s a simple solution that would prevent this from happening to future players who enjoy doing all side quests and dungeons and such and AFAIK wouldnt affect anything else

It is pretty lame that I can’t go back and do the main story or even side quests all over again (if I want to) in a new difficulty.
I would love to go into a new world tier and try everything all over again and new chances for better loot.
Not sure how blizz missed that one…
Ah, so its poor reading comprehension and situational awareness on your part then. Totally Blizzard’s fault.
If you had beaten the game, you’d know why the capstone dungeon to unlock WT3 has to happen after the campaign is done.
But you haven’t yet LMAOOOO
Is your tongue tired from licking boots?
