Do I need to use my premium edition battlepass for season 1?

Or can I save it for later seasons? Not very excited to grind season 1 already drained from grinding my Eternal character to lvl 100 and dont want to play too much till the game actually feels different after some patches.

You can save it  To use the Ultimate Edition BP you need to activate it in the store. That means you can save it for whatever Season you prefer. I am probably doing the same thing. I don’t really care for the cosmetics this season and seeing as that is what it gives, will wait.

If you purchased the digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo IV and want to redeem your Battle Pass for this Season, navigate to the Seasons section of the Shop and select the option to activate your Battle Pass.

Is there a place where you can view all the rewards from the battle pass already? I’d be keen on checking this out.

I have not seen a website yet that has an itemized list of everything in the Battlepass with images. Some of it is free, including some cosmetics. Some is paid. I just don’t think anyone has an overview yet. If they did I would be interested to see as well.

Thanks for the reply.

I see a lot of people posting “i’m saving it for another season” and i just think to myself, well how do you know how good or bad it is we haven’t seen it yet

We do know the Season Theme, which anyone can play as part of the Base game we have. We also have that screenshot in the linked blog showing some of the Cosmetic armor the paid version grants.

I think a lot of people are just not super excited about those cosmetics so far. Some might change their mind of course. We can do the whole Season Journey and Battlepass as part of the core game we paid for. If we finish it, like the cosmetics, and want them - we can use our Battlepass at the end (before season is over) and get all the cosmetics granted at once.

I know I won’t be buying them ahead of time - that way I can finish the Battlepass FIRST and know I won’t end up missing out by not getting it done and wasting the money.

The one thing that confuses me is the free versus battle pass season. They keep talking about 27 tiers for the free pass, 63 more tiers for the premium.

Like, what are the tiers? I don’t get it. Can you still reach level 100 with the free pass?

Yes you can finish it with the core game. You can do anything in Seasons as part of the game you already bought, including the quests, leveling to 100, using the new season mechanics. The paid cosmetic slots will just be locked and will show the reward. Like an advent calendar with see through locked windows.

See on that image where the boxes are on the bottom? The ones that are part of the core game are unlocked as you go through the Season Journey and BP goals. The rest you will still complete, but you have to buy the cosmetic BP to unlock them. You can do that any time during the Season. Finish it first if you want so that you know you have time to do it before buying the cosmetics (if you want them).

Ah, that makes sense

That’s actually a really good idea. I have the ultimate edition battle pass but I think I’ll do the same as you and just finish out the free one, then decide to use it or not.

Thnx for clarifying this, now I can take it easy in season 1

If you use your premium battle pass for season 1, you can hold onto the 666 free platinum and get your season 2 premium battle pass for $5.

Im on playstation, can only buy 10$ PSN cards, but yeah it should cover 2 seasons

If you have the Ultimate Edition but don’t want to redeem that version’s Season Pass yet, can you buy a regular Premium Season Pass and activate that instead?
And, when you click on “Activate”, does a selection appear as to which pass should be used?
