We have two TVs set up side by side and two Xbox’s. We love to play together and always just buy one copy of any game with the Xbox set as home on each others console so we can share. We played diablo 3 this way as well as other online games. She is getting the license error now. I’m hoping it’s a server issue and I don’t actually have to buy another copy of the game because that would really really really suck. It’s a darn $90 game

Same here, surely this cant be the case, i was able to play in all the betas fine with game sharing. It also doesn’t state in the store that you cannot play the game early if you are game sharing. They need to fix this, surely you shouldnt even be able to click a game to get in if you account is not allowed to play the game yet, happens with other games sometimes but this game lets you in, just doesnt allow you to actually play the gane

Having the same issue. It says I can join his game, but when I make a character it says none are eligible. If i try to log in on my account first then it says I dont have a valid license and we share the same console.

right I played all three beta weekends just fine but the release of the game not? it would be outrageous to make each gamer tag buy a copy we have three players in my house. we should have to pay individually for a game when its never been like that in the pasts matter of fact diablo 3 never had that issue.

if you go into the store, the account that isn’t allowing you to play the game – it’ll say it doesn’t own the edition required to play early and only the standard edition.

Look at any other game, for instance any call of duty franchise game, or any EA sports game, Fifa being a good one. My brother brought the Ultimate edition of Fifa which gives the game a few days early, on my xbox it says i only own the standard edition of fifa but i also was given the game a few days early to play, this is an issue with Blizzard themselves by the looks of it not following the same procedure as xbox when they should be.

My brother and me game share on the Xbox, i was getting the same error since 7 est time. I just bought the Deluxe edition and it let me right in. I hope this helps and think it totally suck. But guess everyone has to make a dollar. Again hopefully this helps you all.

Ps5 is having that issue, almost all PS5 players can’t play yet they are fixing that issue. But it’s Xbox that nobody knows about from what I’m hearing

Game sharing. Friend can play and I cant. Had to buy my own copy in order to play. Probably an early access issue. Might be fine after full release but damn I couldn’t wait lol

I am on Xbox. My partner and I have been trying to troubleshoot this since servers opened and we think this is the problem.
We account share as well. He is the one who pays for game pass and there have been times when I will want a game offered free to Xbox Live users, but can only be redeemed on my partner’s account so I have access to download and play it. I also do not have the ability to earn points for game pass achievements despite us sharing and I technically do have access to game pass games on my own console. It seems like this may be an Xbox issue, not a Diablo IV issue.
We noticed the same thing about the specific version of the game that I have. I have the base game, despite my partner purchasing the Ultimate edition. He downloaded the game, put it on an external drive, and transferred to my console, yet he has early access and I do not.
Checking the game store confirms that I do not have the Ultimate edition that was purchased. I can see both the Ultimate and Deluxe editions, but it shows them for purchase and not labelled “Can be installed” as if I do not own the game.
So yeah, that’s our theory. Not sure now PS5 works, but it makes the most sense for xbox account sharing, at least for our situation.

I’d like to mention that I bought 2 copies, both ultimate edition.
1 for me on PC from Battle.net
1 on PS5 from Playstation Store
Unfortunately I bought it on my PS account which is linked to my Battle.net. Now my wife trying to game share with her PS account + Battle.net cannot access it. I don’t even know if she will get the bonus or not.
I regret buying this game lol
