Do i have to buy the same game on each platform or can i just buy the generic version and get my other stuff from my big preorder?
If you own the PC version but want to play it on Xbox, Playstation, or even through Steam, you will have to purchase another copy. Once you’ve done so and you link your account to that purchase all of your characters/items/stash/etc will be accessible on whatever platform you purchased it for as well.

i bought it orignally on xbox but im trying to figure out if i need to buy the ultimate edition again or can i just buy the reg game and that preorder stuff carries over.
You’ll only need to buy ultimate one time. You get the bonuses for each platform
I own xbox and pc version. I bought ultimate on xbox and the standard edition on pc
