It’s the same for any major game from studios like this. FFXIV is the same way, if you own a normal PC copy, but want to play it through steam you have to buy another copy from steam, this is nothing new.

Not true. Fallout 76 let us transfer our non steam to steam. So did Destiny 2. Blizzard just being some greedy sobs and I will never buy another blizzard title again for it.

Destiny 2 is free, and they couldn’t give away Fallout 76 fast enough. That’s kind of a horrible comparison honestly.

Destiny 2 was NOT free at release. It was a paid game, then they offered a free transfer to steam and later it went free to play so they could wallet vampire the hell out of it.
Fallout 76 turned out to be a good game. But you said big companies dont do it, which is wrong. Bethesda and Bungie both did it.
I dont care that they are selling the game on steam, what makes me frustrated is they didnt tell us. I would have waited and bought it on steam. Instead, Ill never buy another game on battlenet again.

Difference was we knew these titles were coming to Steam so we purchased them on Steam. Blizzard probably knew they were launching on Steam as well but kept to themselves. If I knew about this, I would have never purchased D4 on BNet.

If I knew the game was coming to Steam I would never had it purchased (OVERPRICED) on Battle Net.
I’ve already linked Battle Net with Steam prior to Overwatch 2 release, they CAN detect our previous purchases and add them on Steam. They know most of us PC players prefer to play our games on Steam and Diablo IV’s would’ve had a bigger impact if it was released on Steam. Charging us again is their method of trying to save a weak overpriced release. They could also add D2R on Steam for people that previously bought it.
Bethesda did this with Doom Eternal and other games bought on their sh*y a launcher and moved to Steam.

Well, my main platform is steam. It’s my biggest game library, that keeps growing.

Yes, you will need to purchase the game again.
Licenses between Battle.net and Steam are separate, as it is with pretty much every other game that is available on multiple platforms even if you link accounts.
bc blizzard is a joke and D4 is the worst performing game of the decade

Same here. It would literally make no difference if I play on Steam or Bnet though.
Seeing as it’s already installed on Bnet I don’t see why changing over makes a difference. It also adds another game that I can’t play if my brother wants to use my family share on steam.
Thats the point, I dont wanna buy it again, just play it on steam.

LOL do research. Blizz is owned by MS now. MS games always go to steam. Hence Blizz and Bethesda will go to steam.
