when i had the 60% bleed damage aspect on weapon, it seemed like it’d just overwrite itself
That’s a joke?
If u hit multiple times with rend the dmg will not stack??
I think different bleeds stack? Like, if you use flay and rend and lunging strike’s bleed they will stack. Re-applying the same of any of those though will just reset their respective durations back to full.
heaven forbid barbarians kill things as fast as other classes
With them not stacking anymore, does that break the 2h sword expertise? It doesn’t do an additional 20% as bleed but converts 20% of your dmg to bleed. So, are we basically gimping our dmg by 20 percent?
I’ll have to test after work by hitting enemy with basic attack, look at bleed tick and hit again to see if it goes higher.
bleeds still stack, can see the tick damage go up as I spam rend on this elite. I took out the passive that allows bleeds to crit so theoretically every rend application is the same damage

Rend and flay (and even the bleed from lunging strike) will stack indefinitely. The bleed aspect OP is talking about is either nerfed or bugged.
Yeah I can say with some certainty that casting Rend multiple times will combine the damage of multiple casts into a sort of “Rend Damage Stack” such that if you hit a target twice back to back, you get a combined pool of damage worth two Rends, and the damage per tick will be double that of a single Rend provided you got the second Rend in before any bleeding ticks from the first Rend happened. You can also see this pretty easily with the visual on the health bar if the mob has enough health, where the first Rend will make one chunk of the health bar a darker color, then the second Rend will roughly double that in size. Flay acts basically the same way. I’m also even pretty positive now that Enhance Rupture, as weak as it is, actually stacks if you manage to impale multiple enemies with the hit, with each enemy causing their own AOE bleed explosions and adding to the stack on surrounding enemies, because often the resulting AOE of one Enhanced Rupture won’t kill other enemies, but sometimes hitting 3-4 enemies with Rupture can melt a room.
I’m not certain how the Bleeding during Berserking aspect behaves, but I would expect it to basically be the same for all bleeds, with the bleed from the aspect having its own pool of damage the ticks of damage pull from.
As much as I think Rend, Rupture, and Bleed-focused builds need buffs (along with Fields of Crimson), I don’t think there are really any problems that are causing us to just lose damage because a bleed got reapplied before the previous one ended. They always seem to just make the remaining damage pool bigger.
aspect of berserk ripping
Whenever you deal direct damage while Berserking, inflict [20-30%] if the base damage dealt as additional Bleeding damage over 5 seconds.
despite hitting for millions i was seeing only 1 bleed counter on the mob and maybe like 5-10k damage each tick (this is with upheaval)
if the bleed only applies once its a pretty crappy aspect (better to just get a “Your core skills do X more damage” since those obviously work)
if the aspect is pre damage modifier, then its pretty suck anyway (just take the sword mastery or some other thing that applies a bleed)
edit:
just tested this… looks like they stack but it adds the dmg to just 1 counter
still the amount of bleed damage is very weak since its not based on crit dmg or anything
Berserk Ripping is now primarily used to apply the Bleed Status and take the 2H Axe or Polearm Technique. Like most things in Diablo 4, it is smoke and mirrors. You invest minimally in a lot of little things to stack Conditionals so that your Primary Attack can be posted as a condensed YouTube highlight with some crappy Creed music thrown on top of it or something showing how Pro you are and people come crying for nerfs of your Build.
the bleed from 2h expertise does not stack. Tried it last night and multiple hits had the bleed tick for the same dmg.
Effects that need bleed dont proc off berserker ripping.
Berserk Ripping does not proc Hamstring, count as and the Bleeds do not count toward Bleeding Enemies (which is a conditional to give you more Damage and DR?)
