DIV is still a "leveling" game

I understand that Blizzard is trying to provide some sort of endgame activities, but masterworking and the lack of competetive challenges (like ladder) does not scratch the surface of it compared to other games.

I managed to take all classes to 100 at least once now. Managed to get at least one gear slot to max masterworking (which I already feel is now worthy in terms of a fun thing to do). And that’s it, I don’t see any reason to open the game again.

There could be other cool things that unlock exclusevely at more challenging activities (even if those are some cosmestics, because no one cares about titltes or emblems).

The expansion seems to provide some sorte of a different storyline campaign, mercenaries, “raids” and a single new class. I mean, this is the sort of content we get in many games as a “major / annual free update”, not yet another thing to purchase and be done with in less than 10hours.

You are not meant to play for the entire duration of the season.

Play for a few days, when you are not having fun anymore, then stop.

There’s plenty of things out there to play.

I only have like 60-ish hrs in the season so far, but i will have to dip out on friday since WoW expansion and i doubt i’ll have time for more D4 until the expansion launches.

Just to add on here - this is kind of how the ENTIRE ARPG market has been trending.

It is a very interesting idea. ARPGs see themselves as the “#2 game” for everyone with the seasonal system. For instance, NCAA and D4 are kind of my “always playing” games right now but neither is my primary game now. What is? It’ll be Cult of the Lamb starting this weekend since it is available for free on PS Plus =)

I personally think designing your game as this “constant in the background” idea is pretty awesome with where I am in life but… if this was 15 years ago I am CERTAIN it would annoy me some, heh

then… dont? i mean. noone forces you to get the expansion.

i mean…what are you asking here for my friend?

Something meaningful in terms of endgame… Eventually everyone gets tired of the “oh yeah, DIV is moving in the right direction” but never reaches it and makes sure to charge you more $$ in every step of the way

you werent asked $$ in the last year for diablo to meet your expectations.

do not purchase VoH. wait until you can say the content is to your liking.

Well, to be fair, when we bought VoH back in S4 the game was to our liking and then the f-ed a lot of things with season 5

hah, well, i wouldnt say d4 became bad with s5, but it was a buggy show ^^

i enjoy s5, but it had a lot more problems than one would have expected for sure ^^

We can all hope that spiritborn is fun to play and… play that for the expansion i guess.

No need to worry about the buffs & nerfs of the main classes

Precisely. The issue is I already purchased the base game and honestly it never really delivered in terms of endgame… And I’m much more of a casual player than anything else.

well the base game is more than a year old. you can happily make your decision then if you didnt enjoy d4 so far.

and. still. under. raw. development.

Come on man you seem like a smart guy you know that even roguelike alphas add more content to the game in that timeframe

hey, i dont have to agree with you, im just hoping you take your right decision, and dont cry about VoH the week it releases.

I’m literally stating facts (a bit more than just my opinion) in terms of endgame for a game that I payed for. On the other hand you can be doing anything else with your life, have nothing to do with me or this post, and still claims that other people are crying. Quite interesting hah son

Yep, most seasons I level every class to 100 and don’t do much more than that with the characters. Maybe 4 levels of master working. Then play one of the broken builds to knock out the season journey.

First of all it’s not true, if it was a “leveling” game and they showed at least some semblance of intent or effort to improve it I’d have been super happy about it

Secondly, the reason why you “hate” the game is precisely because of lack of content during/while leveling because that the “goal” is set in stone prematurely at lvl100

If that doesn’t make sense to you IDK what there’s anymore to say, it’s like a game of basketball where it’s required to score 500 points to win… Only that could be fun to some but the problem is you aren’t even having an opponent (or at least not an opponent you can practice/rematch) in it

Levelling stops at 100. No more Paragon, No more skills. The only thing after that is MW. If it was a levelling game there would be more. Its not a Levelling game any more. Its a Loot Game with levelling mechanics.

Why shouldn’t it be? just cause FOMO of juggling other games?

That’s just not how the game is designed.

With the fast pacing of the leveling, the 1 free 12/12 for every infernal horde stg 7 you do.

A lot of it leans towards get in, experience everything the season has to offer, Move on.

I played elden ring for the first time 2 years after it was released.

If you are playing Live service stuff or MMORPG, the FOMO argument might be there, But that’s not always the case.

For example, I don’t need to play Wukong right now, Single player games can wait

You don’t think they would want people engaged the entire season if they could? They just have no way to pull it off. How come in games like wow people don’t have to quit after 3 weeks and wait for the next season? BECAUSE SEASONS ARE STUPID AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.
