Anyone else frustrated with how the Distilled Fear is managed in Season 2?
First off…you need 9 to run Beast in Ice. 9 distilled fear that you only get farming NM dungeons past level 30.
Second…you’re not guaranteed to get a distilled fear for running a nightmare dungeon. I’m getting one distilled fear for every 3-4 NM dungeons right now.
Blizzard should either guarantee that a distilled fear is dropped after every NM dungeon past lvl 30…or lower the requirement to say…5…for every summon.
The way it currently is…you can run Beast in Ice once maybe every few hours…running endless NM dungeons just to get 9 makes you lose interest in running these dungeons pretty fast…

I agreed, I got regs to summon Duriel twice, but still don’t have enough Distilled Fear to summon Iced Beast at least once!
Distilled Fear drop rates must be fixed.
One have to set a time invest vs reward ratio, it’s just what it is right now.
Really not sure about this one. I haven’t really check any single run, but I’m pretty sure its 1 per run (or very close).
What I do to farm this is pretty simple, I only run fast dungeons, avoiding any of them that require to kill all enemy in a zone, or when I have a lot of backtracking to do (there is still sadly). Choosing movement skill over defense or damage. I often manage to clear such dungeons (in the 31-40 bracket) in 2 or 3 minutes and be able to run the beast twice per hour.
No its bugged it worked at 50% drop or better for a few stretches of time and hasnt dropped at all for long periods. If you arent having issues with it then its just not happening to everyone i just ran 8 lvl 60+ nmd and not a single one
agreed, i have zero intrest left in nightmare dungeons. i even try to use paragonglyphs i don’t realy have to upgrade (much)
getting these was some incentive to do them again but getting none a few times in a row made me stop caring (i have enough for 2 more fights)

Agreed. I’ve only started running NMs 30 recently, but in about 7 or 9 I got one Distilled Fear, none today or yesterday when I ran the majority of my 30s so far.
To be honest, we had no issues with Distilled Fear at all. Drop rate seemed fine, but at some point we were 2-3 man speeding through 90+ NMD (<3mins) all the time to finalize glyphs and had so many Beast runs accumulated.
The benefit of group runs is the high chance to maintain a NMD rotation of Belfry, Ghoa, Jalals, Tormented Ruins, Heathenkeep.
If you toss all those DF together after you are done, you gonna be surprised how many runs you can actually do.
I mean I have only one glyph to level 15, others not even leveled but have no problem soloing any content in the game, why do I need to level them again? What is the content waiting for me that I cant beat now without them being leveled?
I’m running my 2nd character at level 40+ ND and have gotten a total of 6 Distilled Fear since i started running above tier 30…which has been the vast majority of my attempts. I have not had one drop today at all after about 8 and only one the past 2 days.
Why is the percentage drop rate so low?
I wonder if distilled fear is only dropping from specific NMD.
It took me nearly 30 dungeons to get 10.

I’m doing a bit better this time around, I’ve done about 12-15 dungeons and have 7. I’ve done about 3 since, no drops.
What level of NM are you doing? I was doing NM88+ and almost got one every dungeon.
the beast in the ice is worthless.
all special bosses should have the same uber unique drop capacity.
Despite being a formidable boss, it’s drops are trash.
Currently I’m doing NM 40’s and 50’s. I’ve done as high as NM 70. The level doesn’t seem to affect drops for me. I did get 1 per run for a bit then it dried up again.
I’m now leveling glyphs and still at 3 distilled fear for the entire season.
Are you doing at least t31 dungeons?
The worst part is when you have done your glyphs and hit lvl 100. I want a better rolled occy
Doing nmd over and over for nothing but the black bottles is less rewarding than helltides
