I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your mic on Discord. There are a few possible reasons and solutions for this issue. Here are some steps you can try:

  • Check if your mic volume is turned all the way down in Discord. You can use the volume wheel within Discord to raise it.
  • Check if your mic is muted in Discord or by a server moderator. You can see if the mic icon has a slash across it or not.
  • Check if Discord is using the correct mic as the input device. You can select the correct microphone from the dropdown under Input Device in Voice Settings.
  • Check if your audio drivers are up to date. You can update them manually or use a driver updater tool .
  • Reset your voice settings on Discord. You can do this by going to User Settings > Voice & Video > Reset Voice Settings .
  • Run Discord as an administrator. You can do this by right-clicking on the Discord shortcut and selecting Run as administrator .
  • Enable automatic input sensitivity settings on Discord. You can do this by going to User Settings > Voice & Video > Input Sensitivity and toggling the switch to On .
  • Use push to talk as the input mode on Discord. You can do this by going to User Settings > Voice & Video > Input Mode and selecting Push to Talk .

I hope these steps help you fix your mic issue on Discord. If not, you may need to contact Discord support for further assistance.

It has a lot of issues with Discord.
I’ve seen the following:

  • Audio stops working
  • Discord crashes (when streaming)
  • Discord constantly thinks the player paused or minimized even when they didn’t.

There is currenty a bug where if you are streaming on discord while having a Yeti mic, discord crashes / stops working. Don’t know if you’re currently using Yeti, but if you are, try unpluging it and use a different mic.

I currently have that problem myself

Hi!

I’m having the exact same problems, only I don’t have a Yeti mic.
I’m using a Logi HD Pro Webcam C920… My friend is using the exact same setup as me, and he doesn’t have any problems with audio or streaming.

I really wish I knew what to do to fix this issue. Anyone got any idea?

A temp fix for the discord crashing/freezing while streaming is disabling hardware acceleration in discord. It will however tank your FPS if your CPU is not good enough.

Also having this problem. Looking for some solution. Do we need to wait for a patch with Diablo? Discord? or Nvidia?

My friend is having same problems. His discord keeps crashing while playing D4. Usually seems to happen during cut scenes. It’s fine for me though.

I have been experiencing issues with Discord while streaming Diablo 4 in a voice channel. I have never had this issue with any other game.

After streaming Diablo 4 for about 15-20mins, the stream will shut down and voice comms no longer work. However, you are still connected to the voice channel with a connection status ‘RTC Connecting’. This status does not resolve. I tried restarting Discord with Ctrl+R which causes it to Freeze/Crash forcing you to manually close the client and start it back up. Everything is back to normal after starting back up… until you start streaming Diablo 4 again and the same scenario inevitably occurs.

I have tried all troubleshooting steps in regards to my router, updating drivers, checking firewall settings, I don’t use VPN… Nothing to do with my network/security.

In response to some of the theories people have of what could be causing the issue or is a potential fix:

  • I do use a standalone mic (HyperX Quadcast). However, I tried using a different mic including my headset mic and the issue still persisted.

  • Disabling ‘Hardware Acceleration’: I have always had this setting turned off and this still occurred for me.

  • Disabling Firewall: Nope. That did nothing for me.

FIXED FOR ME

So i had the same issue and i couldnt figure out what the problem was either

So i figured i would ask one of my friends who could stream it on discord what his ingame graphics settings were. and i noticed he ran the game in the “High” Quality Preset where i ran it in “Ultra”

Lowering it from “Ultra” graphics to “High” seemed to fix it for me.

now writing this have streamed my game for 2 hours to friends on Discord where before i couldnt even do it for 10 mins.

This occurs regardless of the settings. I’ve tried in High and Ultra it still occurred.

I have the same issue, after a few hours diablo makes my audio extremely poor in discord.

Ive made a post in here about this before… but just to add to this post…

Discord and Streaming do not get along… and its to do with RTX cards from my research… doesnt matter if DLSS is on or off… just using an RTX card and trying to stream via Discord seems to crash Discord

atleast for the 2k and 3k cards… not sure about the 4k’s

I have a i7-13700KF, 4070 ti and 32GB of RAM. Temps look great and this happens to me. Everything is fine till buddies ask me to stream d4 to help with something and they tell me the stream looks like its paused. my push-to-talk stops working and after I stop streaming I still cant talk with anyone. I have to completely close out of discord and re-open. happens as admin and normal. Might be a discord problem. Buuuut I will say this problem only occurs when I stream Diablo 4. WoW and other games do not have this problem.

I also have this issue, adjusting the graphics does nothing to fix it- the issue persists of trying to stream diablo from discord. I dont have a yeti mic

yeti + 3070 – having major issues with the mic and anything related to the mic, doesnt even have to be disc - can be voicemeter also. something is majorly broken here with diablo

Same here. But also friends tell me that discord says that i paused or minimized game and stream stops. Few moments after that discord communication crashes and i need to restart discord. My setup: Windows 11 + 5800x3d + rtx 4070 + 32GB ram + x570 mobo. This issues persists from first beta to now.

Same issue here - just adding to mention that. Hope they fix it.

Having the same issue.
Streaming for friends in discord, and it will pause my stream and mute my mic. I have tried to go through audio settings through both the PC desktop and Discord itself. I have other friends who have their PCs completely crash because they are streaming in discord as well (no mic issue, just crashing). When my mic issue happens I have to completely restart my PC or it will not work again.

I currently use a Wireless Logitech Headset, I do not have this issue with any other games that I stream in discord.

Making a comment to see if anyone knows of a fix or if they are aware of the problem and are going to fix?
