If you look closely you can see some faint scars on the base barbarian template.
All in all, I found this to be a satisfying setup:

(How do you post images here?)
She does look cute-but-strong from certain angles (not in this screenshot, I tried to capture the head tilt.
SUGGESTION: Blizzard needs a wardrobe “Snapshot” function, like in Lost Ark and FF14, where you can make poses and set terrain to encourage these fashion posts. Great for the health of the game like FF14.
The options are a bit lacking. A lot of the hairstyles just look plain bad imo and faces are too limited. Not having a lot of scars options is odd, as is no blind eye options as Miss Cheetah pointed out.
Also, I would have liked to be able to do tattoos by body part to mix and match ones I liked better - the presets are ok, maybe more color options would be nice. I don’t remember there being any tattoos on the legs either.
The forum software is called Discourse and it has a “trust level” that is gained by just reading every day and throwing out a few likes. Mine is set manually so I am likely the only on here who can post clickable links. The most you can do without the forum permissions is the copy paste link you just did
So I embedded your image for you.
Eh, helping other players with tech, CS, and game questions for more than 10 years so…yeah. I only get green text and manually set forum permissions. I like helping, don’t get me wrong, but I would not really consider forum permissions a big reward, nor is the green text most of the time.
It gets odd when I want to talk about my opinions and people assume I have some sort of authority when I don’t. Sometimes I am giving an answer/link, other times I am just talking about hair color!
There are two The ponytail and a sort of long pony/braid down the back. The rogue has a ponytail with a front hair bangs thing.
I agree more options would be fantastic though which is what this thread is about right? Although, if memory serves, isn’t long hair a lot harder to animate and one of the reasons so many games have shorter hair is that it does not move like long hair does?
Anyway, I do hope for more hair styles for certain.
Yeah, working in the industry myself, I believe that is a correct assumption. The hair fiber they chose is probably very difficult to stretch out as it creates an enormous number of particles. I just wish I could make a Sorceress that resembles the one in D2.
What if our idea of feminine beauty doesn’t include chiseled jaws? Why does this current game have so many less options than games like it that came out years ago? Blizzard was supposed to set a higher standard, instead they seem to be flagging behind everyone now.
Blizzard made the Diablo games. D1 and D2 had zero choices at all. Not even gender. You got what you got. D3 gave us a gender choice. Nothing more, although we did have transmog. D:I had some presets + some limited transmog options.
WoW is also similar in that they have more faces and hair options, but those are still limited. They have added over time, but they don’t even have dyes in that game yet.
I just don’t think Blizzard has ever gone all in on char customization like many games, going back 20 years, have done. Esp for Diablo, it was not their thing. Blizzard has never been known for their char customization options in any game, not that I am aware of anyway.
Most of the chatter I see on that is from Final Fantasy, Guild Wars, etc.
?? Ummm, there is for both male and female. However you are right, they did not try to sell D2R in China and are not selling D4 there. They currently have zero games being sold/played in China after they opted not to renew their contract with NetEase. I don’t think D4 would ever get approved there anyway. They would have to do massive changes.
The squinty eyes were kind of a give-away. Also, let’s avoid racial prejudice hypersensitivity; We shouldn’t deny reality, we should recognize our differences and have fun with that. I also love it when people do fake accents. Expect more options after season 1 onwards buddy, we might be jumping the gun here
That would mean a lot! I know it ain’t critical as well, but I would imagine different teams do different things. People who work on things like how hair look probably dont work on other types of bugs and issues. If no one lets them know then nothing will be done at least.
Barbarian, Druid, Paladin, Cleric, Monk, Sorcerer, Wizard (different in incantations, support spells, leyline usage etc), Rogue (that can specialize as assassin/thief and bounty hunter for PvP benefits), Necromancer, Warlock/Summoner, Ranger, Bard, Artificer (for crafting enthusiasts with buff advantages, including mobile forges to repair in dungeons).
You start the game and spend 5 hours in the character creator and add your own flavour text, then join 1 of 5 city regions, sign up to a guild (qualifying will act as the tutorial whereupon you receive your guild lisence and F-grading. Then you can take missions from the Guild like generic dailies, to build renown, gold and grade up.
The MSQ will unfold organically through the overworld like D4.
You have world events like a Dragon attacking the city. You also have side quests that unfold as you discover things by wondering around like Zelda BotW, not approaching an exclamation mark.
Then you also have the classic tower- a labyrinth with floors you progress through solo or party, each having a unique floor boss and biome.
PvP will have a glorified duel system that gets published in taverns, and guild halls.
Check this; You can have officially-licensed DM/GMs that can gain access to a world builder tool that can create one-shot dungeons/scenarios that they can then publish in the Bnet shop which become new dungeons and mingames for all the player base to participate in. Or These community leaders can just make actual DnD campaigns (that are kind of offbrand with realtime true combat systems but nontheless).
It would be a massive undertaking with hundreds of Gbs, but this would be the ideal game. The idea being that you wanna log on, pick your race, class, aesthetic, playstyle in a gothic- high fantasy setting and not feel like you’re checking off a to-do list.
It is extremely basic but it is beta and they have time to add some before launch if they choose to or add some in future patches/expansions. They’ll probably get an earful this weekend, lol.
I think a more attractive, subjective, face for both male and female and maybe a more gruesome, scarred version for both. Then give both males and females their own unique hairstyles. At least two more for each. Definitely has room to grow/expand.
I’d also like to have separate sliders for male facial hair and eyebrows please. And maybe moveable tats.
What I’m disappointed about current character customization is this.
Currently, skin complexion and other features (freckles, blemishes, scars, body hair) are lumped together with skin color or face variations, or not even changeable at all.
For example, I prefer male Rogue’s 2nd face, but he has a scar on his left cheek. I don’t want that scar, but then I have to choose a different face instead.
Also, he has chest hair which I would rather not have, since I am making him without any moustache and beard on his face, and prefer if his body is less (or not) hairy.
I also prefer Sorceress’ topleft-most skin color, but the complexion there has a lot of freckles, which I do not want. If I want much less freckles, I would have to choose a much darker skin color, which is not preferable for me.
What I would love is separating these face and skin features from the face variations and skin color, respectively.
We already have access to the Markings category for tattoos, so there should also be a separate category to individually select and change features like complexion, scars, body hair, blemishes and bruises, etc.
