Died twice yesterday and im loving it

Been a while since i died at start of season

This season is brutal early on, some of those bosses hit hard!

Had to call it a day after the second rip

So far loving the fact a mistake can actually kill me

Never even came close to dying on past 7 seasons starts

Both death were on hard difficulty

Maybe ill temper some max life on my next toon…………after work today

I see so much crying over the battle pass, thought to share something a little more encouraging

Slay on fellas!

I shall comeback stronger tonight!

I started Sorc, on hard. I had a couple close calls during leveling.

RiP’ed against Echo of Lilith in Torment I.

I was already clearing Pit tier 25 pretty quick and without taking damage, that’s equivalent to Torment II.

It’s been a while since I stopped using flame shield, I think I’m going to reconsider my position, haha.

I’m gonna take a few days off tho :stuck_out_tongue:

Love the positive attitude… that’s the HC spirit Blizzard needs to foster.

Been wiping everything in Torment I all day… several ladder bosses included… been thinking of trying Torment II but still don’t have the tempers I want to take my Hydra sorceress up a tier… so back to grinding in Torment I for now.

The only sad part is they buffed all the bosses but the Butcher… he’s still a total pushover. Last time I faced him in a T1 NMD he barely got “Fresh Meat!” out before he died. And remember… he died to hydras. Sigh… poor Butcher… we hardly knew you.

UPDATE

So far I have died about five times.

Compared to before, Season 6 and 7. Tempering seems required now. Let me explain, I used to be completely fine without it until I was at Torment IV and began to temper gear that I was gong to use for a long time. AND not before.

I don’t like to temper gear I’m going to use, ONE hour…

In season 8, bosses just obliterate you if you don’t temper gear. This is a problem, because whispers make them a target, and is fun to play different activites in random order, but if the bosses one shot you, it feels bad.

I died to the Herald of Hatred, in torment III, with a super tanky Sorc. I even had equpped a Tyraels Might. Like I went out of my way, to make a my sorc. extra tanky, and if he touches you during some of his invulnerability phases, he goes through 100% of your barrier and 99% of your health, in a single hit. Through your mana shield, teleport damage reducition passive, damage reduction from elites, and the Tyraels damage reduciton affix, all of it, it’s all worthless IMO. Using a healing potion, heals you, in a two second period, yet this guy goes through all your health in a single hit, in ONE 16 ms frame, it’s just crazy.

And this was in torment III.

I cannot emphasis enough that I would prefer to equip my Sorc with a Raiment of the infinite, but I didn’t because I wanted to make sure, I was safe during the speed meta.

I don’t like this, becase where I have traditionally died, in Diablo, across the last 10 years, is while pushing the pit/greater rifts, not during the speed meta while juicing my character.

When I’m powering up my character, doing all the grindy stuff like farming obducite, leveling glyphs, gaining paragoon levels, I’m not really paying attention to 100% of my capabilities. I’m just chilling, listening to music or youtube. AND I’m usually tired from my day job.

I’m totally OK to die, while I push the pit, pit tier 100 plus. Because I do it on the weekends, while I’m well rested and ready to play 100% of my capabilites, and mentally prepared to die.

But when I die, before that, in particular in less than 100 ms, that is just BS. Way less time than my healing potion has any hope to keep up, it just feels bad.

My hat is off to the softcore players who are dying hundreds of times this season, I don’t know how they do it.

I’m not happy with this season.

Not just tempering but masterwork seems a necessity this season.

I can’t hop up to T4 yet with my Hydras… first season that was a problem after p200. The problem is most of my gear is 4/12 MW… only my weapon in 8/12. That leaves way, way too much health and damage out of the mix.

Nearly died to Grigoire in Torment 3 this morning before the patch. Though I can pretty much mop the floor with Varshan at the same level. Go figure. So now I’m starting the long slog to farm enough obducite to MW all my gear to 8/12 or better. It’s going to be a LOOOOONG time before I see T4 this season.

That’s assuming they don’t break the game before then. Lots of new bugs today besides the never ending “Belial’s Unveiling” message.

I’m enjoying the season. I think it is good that one can die to random stuff and not just put or Uber bosses. Playing slowly with continuous tempering and masterworking of gear and 150 paragon right now.

Overall, I am glad Blizz buffed the difficulty level (and also quickly fixed exploits like the Varshan power).

well, it’s been a while since my post above.

update:

currently blasting thru the game with a dt rogue @ P255. Haven’t really pushed to level paragon as i spent most of my time farming boss mats and running them for ga gear and mythics.

have 12x mythics from seasonal board + probably 600+ boss runs. they definitelly lowered the mythic rate from any bosses other than belial.

just do lesser bosses for a chance at husks. belial is where the fun is. don’t even bother with doing bosses in any torment other than 4. There are several builds that can handle t4 boss runs without any mythics. I started with blood wave necro.

might do a push to 300 from now until end of season. I swore never to do this again, but here we are…again

I don’t want to do bosses any more.

I don’t even want to masterwork anymore.

I’m thinking I’m not going to play next season.

I don’t like that only a few builds are good. And “homebrews” are no longer competitive, since season 4. It’s been year.

Blizzard doubles down on nerfs to limit the pool of viable builds even further.

Like they are cappin damage multipliers of a bunch of builds, nuking some more builds into oblivion, and the new builds they are implementing are uncapped. They are clowns.

I don’t understand why they can’t hotfix into the game, features that are good, from season 9. Like jumping from one NM dungeon to the next, without exiting the dungeon into the open world. Why we need to wait for season 8 to end, for legendary runes to have their drop chance increased, or for GA items to have a better drop rate.

Whats the point in letting season 8 rot…
