Did you forget to balance the gold

Hello dear blizzard,

You injected too much gold sink into s4, which is fine on itself- but you didn’t balance end game gold economy around it.

You nerfed loot drops which is great ! We love it , but did you forget to un-nerf gold drop by chance?

How frequently do you intend players to interact with your end game features that cost 10s 100s 1000s millions , billions gold . I think this is an oversight.

Please adjust.

Also you probably went a bit over the top too honestly in buffing end game content including bosses. Most of them 1 shots you and takes 10 years to kill now . I understand in ptr they were too easy, but you didn’t really grab a good middle ground instead, went way too much to other side .

Please adjust.

Almost forgot to mention, scatter prism is not balanced either. It is now more rare than forgotten souls once was in season 2.

Please adjust

Thank you

OP is correct on all counts. Though, prisms may be fine since I believe they are 100% drop chance from World bosses and 50% from legion events.

Prisms are not 100% from world bosses. Also didnt you guys know ? You can vendor your drops and do whispers for gold ! No need to adjust anything we love grinding 1000 whispers within one season and repeat it all again in the next /s.

Ye even with grinding whispers its still way too much . Plus not everyone is into grinding whispers, especially that is the only activity that provides large amounts of gold

Bro… really? I even marked the sarcasm with a /s. I can’t really argue about the gold topic here anymore since most of the gnomes here support having zero choice.

I totally agree. Season is awesome except for cost of gear modification and maiden with disciples takes FOREVER to kill. You can kill heroic Lich King on 25m faster. It’s not fun at all.

Gold doesn’t seem too bad. If you get so much of it so fast that you never have to actualy farm for it then why even have it in the game? Learn to alternate between selling your legendaries and rares vs crushing. Legendaries can sell for 100k+ depending on what they are.

I always sell the ones I don’t need the aspect for until I run out of matts then I start to crush all of them again, always crush the ones I need to finish the aspect for. Now that I have a decent set of baseline gear that is most likely not going to change every time I run something, I am actually stockpiling.

Also crushing legendaries gives a TON of matts so you get them really fast.

Only thing I’ll complain about is prisms. Gold is tough, but easy to get.

Prisim drops increase once you are level 100, I get 3-6 from each world boss.

If you are rolling an item for 100m gold, you’re doing something wrong. If you don’t have a billion gold you shouldn’t be rolling above like 3-4 million unless its literally a perfect item. I feel like you guys are causing your own problems by not using your gold well.

You probably haven’t got to high enough tier end game yet . There are enough negative feedback on gold already from other social media as well, it is a major issue. Blizzard already said the team is aware and discussing internally of this issue on X

OP is wrong on everything. Buffing end game content is the best thing for this game specially this season with the power increases. Scattered prisms are fine. Gold is fine.

Its day 4 people. Lets give the season some time before we start asking for changes.

Anyone who is at the point they are regularly getting 925 items is at this point, re-rolling stats and imbuing legendary powers are the only real gold sinks. You get MORE gold at end game because you upgrade LESS. The middle tier when you are trying to flesh out a semi decent set of ancestral gear is when you struggle the most.

Kind of felt good actually, made me feel like I was chasing more than the next drop. Upgrading the drop was part of the work too.

You missed masterworking, which is the actual gold sink. 5m to reset when you fail to hit the correct affix, and its likely to happen pretty often.

It is the first time since release that gold feels somewhat balanced.

Now, the difference between gold gain from whispers and everything else, maybe that should be looked at (nerf whispers, buff others), but overall gold acquisition should not be increased. Probably the opposite.

The state of gold is perfectly fine.

Tree of whispers does not give you 10-13m gold. Not even if you vendor all the stuff you get, it’s closer to like 4-5m. I’ve had some give me 3.5m. I’ve tracked my last several caches and that has been what I have gotten, no where have I gotten even close to 10m.

5M for 1 reset is not really a lot. And this is something that SHOULD be difficult. You should have to farm a fair chunk of savings, these upgrades are HUGE. Masterworking is meant to be the chase at the end of the game for the hardcore of the hardcore players. I think a lot of players and probably myself included wouldn’t bother trying to min/max masterworking.

Totally on TyresTyco on this one… We don’t need another Diablo 3 inflation lol. I am sure the D4 devs thought about gold before season 4 came out.

Gold is fine. End bosses are fine. Scattered prisms are fine. Zero problems with any of these, and am already doing full masterworking. Stop trying to trivialize all content 72 hours into the league.

Id argue end bosses need better mechanics, not amp up their damage or hp, just tougher mechanics.
